AMAZING find. I love the food here, great and interesting menu, FRIENDLY service, and super fun decor.
It’s a pretty small space, so be prepared to wait for a table and also for your food. We waited about an hour for our food but it was well worth it. 100% will recommend but make sure you are ready for the wait and that you’ve nothing to get to. Just chill and enjoy great breakfast vibes.
Also, I’m a crazy nut for biscuits and gravy and the biscuit here is to die for. Amazing sausage gravy too. SO delicious. I got the north and south platter (can’t remember the exact name) but it’s biscuits with poutine. That beef gravy was out of this world. Wow!

I love the spot. Anytime I come through the city and I’ve got time when they are open I always stop. Friendly staff, fantastic food. Highly recommended. I’ll be back. Good to see you guys again. Today I had biscuits and gravy and a Polish scramble. Biscuits and gravy of course are fantastic. Polish scrambles also great. Bring cash.

Was told I can't order to go. Why? It is too small to sit in and wait for somewhere to sit and order.

Very discriminatory place. Would not allow me to eat breakfast here because the way I looked I was shocked and appalled. Enter at your own risk. They treat you based on how they feel at the moment, and how you look and dress

Admittedly not for everyone, the kitsch and the independent nature of Golden Harvest staff make it a place embracing of all. And their food is to die for! From the usual breakfasts to fusion dishes, it is always well thought out and perfectly executed.
The Gilgeori Toast was the best I’ve had outside Korea, and the chef pulled a couple of nifty tricks to make this stand out.

I went to Michigan State for four years and always heard about the iconic Golden Harvest, but never made it in during college. Now, 10 years after graduation, I finally had the chance to take my wife—and it was an absolute disappointment.
There were maybe 10 people in the restaurant, yet our food never arrived after waiting for almost an hour and a half. Current management seems to be riding on the coattails of what was once a legendary spot. Yes, there are signs posted saying “food may take longer,” but that reads more like an excuse for incompetence than a warning. Waiting 30–40 minutes is reasonable. An hour and a half with nothing? Unacceptable.
When I asked our server (who was very kind), he looked almost scared of the cook, who was loudly complaining about “having to throw away food” while giving away the few items that actually were ready. Maybe food wouldn’t be wasted if it wasn’t taking so long to begin with.
The food that did come out for others looked great—wish we could’ve actually tried it. Check the other low reviews here and you’ll see we’re not the only ones with this experience. If you go, block off half your day and don’t come hungry, because you’ll be waiting hours.
If I could give this place less than one star I would. Waited for food for an hour and 20 minutes. We had to go and asked to pay for coffee and the chef got upset and started giving away our food instead of being understanding and at least giving us what was ready. Then we asked if there was anything ready the waiter was dismissive. So I guess if you’re going plan to wait for food for at least an hour and a half.

The shiz. Pure heaven on a plate, been coming here since we moved here 6 years ago. It's not all about the food but the experience too. Large portions, cash only, decked out wall to wall in oddities. Small place so if you don't get there a half hour before opening be prepared to wait up to and well over an hour. Has never dissapointed. All the menu is 🔥 try the biscuits and gravy too. Thank me later ✌️
6 years later and I was back in MI after moving out of state, same good vibes, same great food and now two menu boards with some of the old favorites.
I took some friends from Jackson for their first time and they were extremely impressed.

Fact. Golden Harvest is easily the best breakfast spot in Lansing. Hard to choose from their eclectic menu, but we went with a spinach and artichoke omelet and the banana pudding French toast. Both were fabulous. Our server was a peach. Also fact. Not sure I'd return. We waited well over an hour for our food. And the acoustics are such that you can't carry on a conversation. But I'm glad I had the experience.
