This place was absolutely diabolical.

I am absolutely appalled by the experience here today and lately. I always thought the service was just slow because of how busy they get, but since expanding and relocating, it has only gotten worse. On October 19, I ordered my usual Gotham City Burger meal. Once served, I was told there was no coleslaw made for the burger, even though it is listed on the menu. That burger has three meats and I added egg, so having no vegetable really threw it off. I would have ordered something else if I had known. I asked to replace it with an omelet, and the server spoke with an older blonde woman who seemed irritated. They brought out warm dry coleslaw as a solution. It was not ideal, but I appreciated the effort and still enjoyed my meal. Today I came back with four friends because I wanted them to love this place too. I ordered a grilled steak burrito, and my server said no problem. Another person brought food to the table and said “steak burrito,” so I took it. When I started eating, I realized there were mozzarella fries inside. It was the Paranorman special, not my order. I let the server know and asked for the correct one. When the correct burrito came, I was told the cooks refused to grill it because they were busy. This was frustrating because they grilled the wrong one earlier. I accepted it, but the replacement came out greasy, soggy, and ripped open on the back. I left the table to speak with someone and found the manager with plastic gauges. She said she would meet me at the table, but I told her I preferred to speak privately. My server met me instead, apologized, and comped the meal. The manager stood off in the distance, glaring, and never once spoke to me. Later she laughed and chatted with the same staff who made the mistakes, while they all avoided our table completely. We were the only Black customers in the restaurant and also the largest group. After paying, three friends left, and we still waited about 20 minutes for a to-go order that had been placed much earlier. We spent around $130 total and were treated like we were a burden. Our server deserves credit for being professional, informed, and kind. But the lack of respect, accountability, and basic courtesy from the manager and kitchen staff was unacceptable. The quality has severely declined since the relocation, and I left feeling disappointed, disrespected, and genuinely uncomfortable.

Good Truckin' Diner is a classic diner offering hearty, flavorful meals in a friendly, casual setting. The menu features comfort food favorites like burgers, breakfast plates, and sandwiches, all served generously. With its welcoming atmosphere and attentive service, it’s a reliable spot for satisfying, no-frills dining.

I don’t know if we were there on an off day or what, but unfortunately, we were not impressed with the food or the service. We only waited 20 mins on a Sunday at lunch time for a table of 2. It took a long time for our server to get to us. She was pleasant but not attentive. It took almost an hour to get food. We both ordered the Hangover. The biscuits were dry and everything was unseasoned. We added salt and hot sauce to everything. The upside, very diverse menu w/ vegan options available with reasonable prices. It’s a cute place in a very nice area. There are a lot of little shops to check out while you’re there.

NOT SUITABLE FOR THE GLUTEN-SENSITIVE PATRON! I’ve seen many reviews mentioning how good this place is from gluten sensitive/celiac folks… this no longer stands true. They have taken away the gluten free waffles and have also stopped carrying gluten free bread. If you enjoy omelettes with no toast then you may enjoy. Staff was very kind and awesome, though they did put toast on my omelette after I informed them I was gluten free.

The food was delicious, the ambiance was cool, and service was amazing. Jackie went above and beyond in making sure my mom and I had a lovely dining experience. We will definitely be back!

Great variety of options and simple, yet creative ingredient combinations. Consistently busy but wait is usually 15 mins or less. Plus for some, negative for others, but note they only serve Detroit City soda.

Our group of eight visited this restaurant and were told there would be a 15–30 minute wait. That seemed reasonable, so we took a short walk through nearby shops and returned about 25 minutes later.

When we came back, the temperature had dropped and it was getting cold for the kids, so we waited just inside the entrance. No one greeted us or acknowledged that we had returned, so we were careful to stand out of the way and not block the door.

A few minutes later, the hostess came over—not to check us in or provide an update—but to tell us we couldn’t wait inside and needed to step back outside. This interaction came across as dismissive and unwelcoming, especially considering we had been waiting patiently and were simply trying to keep our kids warm.

The lack of basic hospitality and communication was disappointing and set a negative tone for the experience. A simple acknowledgment or update would have made all the difference.

What a gem! From out of town, but In Lansing for work, a customer recommended. Wow, best burger ever. Making it a point to stop here whenever I’m back in the area. 5 stars.

First time there since they moved from REP town. Coffee tasted burnt, potato’s and toast was cold. Service was so so. We were one of two couples there. Building interior is cool. But won’t be back.

The breakfast burrito (Steak-it-Easy) was pretty delightful. Lacked a little seasoning but the portion size was great. Downside was I tried to call in advance (13xs) to place my order. Once I was hung up on. When I got there it was not busy at all. The host behind the counter took my order. She wasn't rude but I didn't feel welcomed. I will go back because food was good and hopefully service will be better.
