I was here yesterday with my mom between 12:30 and 1 for the first time since Gump passed a couple years ago. We were the only two in there for that period of time, and our food took 30 minutes to come out. All of the food was pulled out of the fridge cold and had to be warmed up on the grill. I don’t know if the man working had just packed up for the day early, but the hours are until 2 PM, so a 30 minute wait seemed egregious. Additionally, most recipes seemed to have changed since Gump’s passing. The cheesy potatoes just tasted like there was nacho cheese poured over hashbrowns, and the baked beans looked and tasted like a can of Bush’s baked beans. Overall, our food was disappointing in comparison to Gump’s original recipes and made us feel like the new owners are not honoring his business he poured his heart and time into. There isn’t even anything in the store about the history of Gump’s or anything to honor his legacy. The one gentleman who was working was very respectful, however he had his headphones on the whole time he was serving us, which made him seem closed off and took away from the vibe of the place that used to exist. If you were to walk into Gump’s before his passing, you were greeted and conversed with by a bubbly and upbeat Gump, and you would find the place packed with police officers, Michigan State student athletes, and the greater Lansing community during breakfast and lunch hours. He loved his customers. It is now obvious that business is slower, possibly because of the food or the customer service. Our experience left us with one conclusion: if you’re going to change everything about the place, change the name. As close friends of Gump for over 20 years, it’s sad to see his business not fulfilling the vision he had for the place. At least put a picture of him up. But what do I know…

No answer, and we called multiple times each day. Wanted to order catering order because Gumps burritos were referred. Order was for 50 burritos for Tuesday.. :(
We did notice said closed on Monday due to broken down vehicle..

We've been here a couple times. The first time was a few weeks ago, and my daughter still talks about her burrito! She said it was legit! I have had the nachos and the brisket bowl, and both were amazing! The portions were large, enough to share. Very laid back place and the owner/cook is very nice with a smile. Its a small place, and was clean both times we've stopped in. Nice spot to grab lunch. Thanks for the great food!

These must be paid reviews because this is the worst bbq I have ever had. The brisket sandwich was dry, tough and because it was reheated on a flat grill it tasted like the grill. Which was unpleasant.. All the food seemed old or reheated too many times. Even the fountain drinks were heavily watered down. I have never had brisket this bad and I'm sorry anyone thinks this is good. Not to mention the 30 minute wait..
I got the breakfast burrito with brisket and light BBQ sauce. I ordered light BBQ sauce because I've never had it on eggs. WELL let me just say that burrito was beyond delicious!!! The meat was on point, eggs perfect, potatoes well cooked, and that BBQ sauce was chef's kiss!!! It was gone so fast, and i wanted more 🤣. The person who took my order over the phone was very helpful and friendly. When i arrived, they knew who I was before I could say anything, which to me is top-notch customer service. I WILL be back, and I'm telling everyone about this place. I wish I'd found you sooner 🥰.

Best BBQ in town. There Gump Sauce only compliments there already deliciously tender smoked brisket.
Edit : New owners are dropping the ball. Upped all prices. And also don’t have accurate times of business hours. Really drove an hour to find out they are not open. Small business like this are losing so much money not being open on the weekend. Please update your hours online and I’ll update my review. Just disappointed.
