The mid michigan community is fortunate to have several choices for excellent, authentic, family owned taquerias and food trucks. Some old time favorites unfortunately are no longer around, especially Torres Taco House on Grand River on the North Side..And my all time favorite, Alvarado's, on Logan St. (MLK), on the South side. Hela's Kitchen sits right in the middle of those two Lansing Legends as far as Texas inspired flavor is concerned. The chicken taco plate and the shredded beef wet burrito are right up there with the best dinners available in town. As far as the mild salsa goes, let's just say they need to tweak it. Happy to have them on the West Side joining five other local taquerias in the neighborhood. Please stop in and support this family run business!

Tried this during my Wednesday Mall Walk, the Tostado’s were wonderful well seasoned and delicious, but the rice and refried beans were a letdown.

Finally a reason to hit the mall! Taco Tuesday for the win. HELA S Kitchen served up some amazing tacos. And for $2 each, you just can't beat that on a Tuesday afternoon.
Authentic, fresh ingredients, generous portions. Hard to find a good deal anywhere theses days, even more so at the fuggin mall. I will be back to shove more of these $2 boys into my dad bod next week. And probably the week after and so on.
Ask for the HOT sauce. Great hit of heat that lingers and a solid flavor that compliments the shredded beef, Ground beef, or Chicken tacos (try em all for real.)
