The bookstore is exceptional and well-curated. The coffee shop is okay, but drinks are somewhat overpriced (a flavored latte here is $7.00 before tax and tip, which is $1.00-$1.50 more than other local independent coffee shops charge). I disliked that smaller tables were reserved for groups of two or more, and individuals are asked to sit at the communal table (although this rule doesn't seem to be enforced when business is slow). It's worth mentioning that they're open much later than every other local independent coffee shop that I'm aware of, which will be welcome news to students and those wanting a late afternoon or evening coffee.

I was visiting Lansing for an Odyssey of the Mind world competition. Hooked was walking distance from the hotel I was staying at and I decided to check it out. The staff were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the non-alcoholic options, especially the mocktail flight. It's a cute space with a relaxed vibe. Board games are available to play while in the shop as well, we played battle ship.
Side story, the reason I chose to write a review is because I left my wallet at the shop and the owner was kind enough to mail it back to me, no questions asked. So a special thanks to him for doing so. I wish you much success for you and your business.
