The building looks like a dive on the outside but the inside is actually quite bright and inviting! The owners were quite nice and the food was absolutely amazing!! I gave it 4 stars because the sauces were a little bland for my taste*. (*Updated to 5 stars as the sauces are now updated and perfected plus they have a plethora of hot sauces you can add)(this is from old review, updated sauces are MUCH better!) The Carolina sauce wasn't quite vinegary enough and the Sriracha sauce wasn't spicy enough. If you DO want more spice, there is a wide selection of different hot sauces to be utilized for your eating pleasures over by the accouterments counter. They also have one of the best corn breads I have ever had.It's not a huge place so don't bring a crowd but it's great for a small intimate setting with a small group of friends or family.

Very good! Staff is friendly, the sauces are excellent, and the food rivals the best of barbique. I got the pulled pork mash up, which comes as a large portion and a reasonable price. I think it's going to quickly become a weekly spot for take-out.

Got the ribs, very disappointed almost half were good. The rest were burnt in a bad way. Tougher than beef jerky, had to throw them out. The coleslaw tasted like pure vinegar not creamy at all. The Mac and cheese tasted very good. If the ribs were not so tough and dried out would have been a good experience. Service was quick got them to go, wish I would have tried them in the restaurant would have sent more than half of them back.

Another day for BBQ. I had the sliced brisket w/ baked beans and coleslaw as the sides. Brisket is good, nice thick slices and you can see the smoke ring on the meat. Baked beans are typical baked beans like you could get from the store. Coleslaw is tangy and mildly sweet, you can definitely taste bite from the vinegar. I'll pass on the slaw, just not for me. Overall really good. Changing jobs so I won't be coming here very often. Wish I would have come here so much sooner than I did. Very good BBQ, don't pass this place up if you are on the fence with stopping. Stop in and get your eat on.

I loved everything but the potato salad, it tasted like Gordans food stuff and seemed cheap. However, staff is great and that spicy slaw is amazing, brisket and smoked wings are the best anywhere.

It could be easy to miss this place, but wow - I am so glad a friend led me here! The j*** chicken was not as spicy as I expected. But there are a variety of sauces at each table to enhance any meal. An excellent find and an authentic and flavorful gem in the Lansing area.

First time my hubby and I ate here. Ribs were really good and were tender. Had 1/4 smoked chicken, it was tender as well. Cornbread was the bomb!!! Mac and cheese was ok. Coleslaw was a disappointment. Got some smoked jumbo wings, awesome. My fav sauce was the Carolina and the sweet. A bit of a wait, approx 20 min. Overall it was pretty good.
