Strange Matter Downtown

I don’t usually go to non vegan places, but I saw the reviews and wanted to try a donut for myself. This place exceeded my expectations. I walked in and asked if any of the baked goods in the case were vegan, the waitstaff responded saying they were all vegan, I was so surprised! I picked a cookie butter donut and a blueberry cheesecake donut. Both were absolutely perfection!

Not only is the coffee good, but they also have tons of vegan donuts and other baked goods. Can also order bagel sandwiches that are also vegan. Staff is friendly.

incredibly inconsistent. sometimes the drinks are well made, sometimes they are not. sometimes the wraps are delicious, but today my cauliflower wrap had like three pieces of cabbage. disappointed that i can’t count on consistency. that being said, when they’re on it, it hits.

After I gave birth to my daughter I wanted nothing more than a West End breakfast sandwich with some nasty AF potatoes. My husband put in the order and mentioned it was in celebration of the birth of our baby. We were both surprised with a super adorable custom drawing on our food bag! Thank you Bangos and Strange Matter for taking the time to make our day truly special. We will always sing your praises.

Strange Matter Downtown is a wonderful spot. The vegan donuts are the best donuts in Lansing. Great coffee and lots of options. The downtown location has a great side room for seating as well. Do yourself a favor and try Strange Matter if you haven't!

Vegetarian options: The donuts are vegan and there are milk alternatives available for the lattes.

Parking: Street parking is free in downtown Lansing on weekends!

Coffee is great, service is fast. Polite staff. The food is good too. All around no issues to complian about. There's a Lemon Pound Cake there that I love.
