If you're a foodie, this is the place to dine! Butternut squash frisee salad was very good, but everything else was outstanding! The white sauce of the mushroom pasta was permeated with the flavor of the mushrooms. We added scallops - perfectly sautéed. The harissa chili sauce on the cauliflower steak is something I'm going to try at home - hot chilis, coriander, cumin and so on - an unexpected Indian flavor. Dessert was a new culinary experience- burnt orange rinds with nutmeg ice cream on a slice of vanilla cake which absorbed the sweet sauce like a sponge. Dates coated in some wonderful flavor were scattered on the dessert - what a special way to end a special meal !

I was at the People's Kitchen on New Years Eve 2025 for a special dinner and the experience was among the top 5 meals I've ever had. All details of the menu were thoroughly planned out and intertwined. It was a pure masterpiece to the taste buds, like music to the ears. I cannot recommend the experience strongly enough to anyone who enjoys excellent, intense cuisine -- a true memorable experience. PS. I worked in the industry for several decades.

Best food we had in East Lansing. Service was great. But seriously, it was the food! I had the halibut (amazing sauce) and my boyfriend had the duck confit. I had to ask for a couple bites. Best duck ever!!

WONDERFUL food! Took my parents, from metro-Detroit, for lunch - we all ordered breakfast! Coffee was so delicious, food was cooked to order, poached eggs were "perfect" (according to my mom), French toast was "so good" (according to my dad). Seated promptly, staff was super friendly. We look forward to going again to try other items off of the menu!

My husband and i were staying in Lansing for the night- so we happened upon the Peoples Kitchen. What a wonderful little gem of a restaurant. The food was delicious, our waitress was wonderful. If we come back to the area we would definitely come back!

I really enjoy this place. Breakfast is great there (Chicken & Waffles). Lunch is very good as well. Last night we had dinner there for the first time. The crumbed Halibut was tremendous. Service was fast and very well done. I thought it was a little pricy for the portion, but the taste was great. I recommend anyone trying this place!
