Simply the best! My husband visited Sweet Encounter Bakery prior to our wedding and got to try different flavors. Nikki was very helpful with answering our questions and communicating via email. I love that the business is gluten free and the cake tasted so amazing. I emailed Nikki some inspiration photos before the wedding day and she definitely came through!! We loved our cake and so did our guests - highly recommend this vendor! Thank you Nikki, we appreciate you and your amazing business!

Scam!!! I was really looking forward to trying the cupcakes in a jar, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Upon opening the product, I discovered visible mold, which was both surprising and concerning given that I had followed all storage instructions and it was within the expected time frame for freshness.

I reached out hoping for a resolution, but the situation left me feeling let down. I’m sharing this so others can be aware and to hopefully encourage the bakery to take a closer look at quality control moving forward.

OHHHH MY! Literally the best cupcakes I have ever had. I bought four different flavors and a small red velvet cake and ALL of them would fool someone who doesn’t even have celiac. Thank you for your customer service and amazing cakes.

Food is fantastic, service is fantastic and the atmosphere is fantastic. I gave it overall 3 stars because I wish this place was open more. Everytime I try to visit this place, it's always closed. I swear it's only open 1 day a week and it's sad. Overall I have enjoyed the food and wish I could come here more to support local businesses.

We ordered my son’s birthday cake from sweet encounter - he is gluten free and I was so happy to find a bakery that provided an amazing cake for him! They were able to make him a Fortnite themed cake and cupcakes from pictures I emailed. They were delicious! Definitely will order again. Thank you so so much!

Love, love, love this bakery. My new obsession is their GF/Vegan cupcakes in a jar. Red Velvet and Salted Caramel are my very favorite! Thanks so much for such an incredible delicious option for those of us with allergies!

The carrot cupcake was pure poetry! Great spice profile, perfect frosting, just right bake, light yet satisfying, gorgeous proportions, reasonably priced at 4.25 (I would pay more - it was that good)! The chocolate salted caramel cupcake was just as fantastic: terrific moist crumb, excellent chocolate, the caramel drizzle was very caramel-y and the salt hit my mouth at the end...perfect finish! Plus all the cupcakes are delectable in presentation, the whole pastry case is so tempting and attractive.. Easiest 5 stars I've ever given.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free SAFE but everyone would enjoy this all-GF place, I bet! Street parking, bring change or dollar bills (although you can pay by card)

I love love love this place!! I've been diagnosed with celiac disease for quite some time now, but have never found a bakery as good as this one. I love to get their sweets, especially their cake rolls, but do love their other stuff as well. The staff is always so lovely and kind. I have never had a bad experience since coming there. I go to the college, so I usually walk there as it's only a 10 minute walk, so I go there frequently enough. Highly recommend if you have celiac or a gluten intolerance.

I purchased 4 dozen gluten-free mini cupcakes to celebrate January birthdays at my workplace, and the gluten-free cupcakes were more of a hit than the “regular” cupcakes! They were packed in a sturdy container designed to keep the cupcakes from tumbling around in the car, and they were BEAUTIFUL. Sweet Encounters did not sacrifice flavor, texture, or presentation with these delicious treats. I can’t wait to go back for other gluten-free goodies! Thank you thank you thank you for being here!

Sweet Encounter is a gluten free oasis in the general gluten free desert that is the Lansing area. The owners and other staff are SUPER sweet and always greet you with a big smile. Their cupcakes in a jar and regular cupcakes are the best I’ve had in a long time. I haven’t tried any of their lunch items, but plan to soon!

They also sell some baked goods at Hooked - can’t go wrong with a gluten free treat, wine/cocktail/cup of coffee or tea, and a good book!

I have celiac disease and this bakery is the best one I've even been to! Everything in the whole bakery is certified gf so we never have to worry about cross contamination. They have great options for a small brunch. Their cakes and cupcakes are heavenly. They taste just like gluten cakes, if not better! Their frosting is amazing too; definitely better than any other we've tried! They make awesome and delicious custom cakes and the employees are truly so kind and accommodating! Highly recommend!
