Oh my! Our food was so delicious! The poutine was so saucy and shrimp and grits so flavorful! I wish I lived closer to eat here everyday and try all of the items. It all sounds so good! Our whole table enjoyed their meal!
Vegetarian options: Menu was labeled and staff were great working around dairy allergy.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegetarian options labeled on the menu.

Not worth the price but didn’t realize how expensive everything was because the prices weren’t listed on the menus that were sitting on table. There was only one server running around taking orders, making drinks, bussing, etc. she did great but it did give everything a delay.

Jerk chicken skewers were different but quite good with nice size portions, just needed more chutney/sauce since they are dry rubbed. Jambalaya was good and made to order. Tried fish and chips also, redfish was good and hot, fries were just average, barely warm, and didn’t notice anything cajun about them. Draft beer selection is fairly limited, which is unfortunate. Service was adequate. Atmosphere has some level of old city charm.

Drove over an hour to try this place, Definitely not worth the hype, ordered a few things... I was charge 1.09 for mayo, 1.09 for pickles, high priced and too tight of fitting. Jerk chicken was extremely dry. Very disappointing

Great atmosphere, food is decent, service so so. I don't know how to describe the servers it just seemed like it was cold interaction. I had the fish sandwich and it was great.

Why why why have I lived here for so long without trying The Creole? When visiting Chicago, we enjoy eating at Heaven on Seventh, and now we have a place in Lansing that's just as good. My shrimp and grits was (were?) delicious. Creamy, cheesy grits with medallions of sausage and perfectly cooked shrimp. Just wonderful. Great selection of burgers. Don't leave without trying a beignet. The place looks like you're in a major metropolitan area. Clean. Comfy seats. And our server was so very helpful and nice. Good stuff.

Food is pretty good, the building cool but super old so it has that building smell. The beignet were underdone and kinda doughy but over all good food and service.

Not sure how to rate .... it looked like a very nice place.
There was a sign outside for the brunch menu, but standing inside to be seated no one ever came.
I finally left.

I had a taste for Creole food and found out about this restaurant, so I decided to order takeout for my family. Even though it was takeout, I still left a generous tip, and our total came to $120. When I got to the restaurant to pick up my food, the restaurant was almost empty, except for a party of 3 sitting at a table in the back. I saw NO hosts or staff anywhere.
I stood there waiting about ten minutes, and no one came. I had no idea what to do and finally decided to call the restaurant, hoping maybe someone would answer, so I could tell them I was inside of the restaurant to pick up my order. That ended up working, and a guy finally came out from the back to get the phone. I told him I was there to get my order, and he handed me the bagged order. No apology for the wait. I am not sure if maybe they are just severely understaffed, but I have never had an experience like this at another restaurant.
When I got home with the food, I realized that they had given me an incorrect item. I ordered smoked salmon cakes and instead got smoked salmon spread. I even checked my receipt to make sure I hadn't accidentally ordered the wrong item, and I didn't. I tried calling them several times, and even though it was still during business hours, no one ever answered the phone.
The food itself was just okay. It was not terrible, but at the price I paid, it wasn't good enough to justify another visit. I am more disappointed with the customer service. Since the restaurant's overall rating is pretty good, I was really expecting better; but this experience left me with a bad first impression.
Kitchen closed and glad of it. Filthy.
I've been considering trying this place for a while. Finally found the time, and went. The atmosphere was very relaxing, the ambiance was darker than any restaurant I've been in. David was our server and he was absolutely amazing. He had to go to the kitchen a few times to check on my dietary restrictions with no hesitation. I decided on the shrimp etoufe. It came very fast. However the taste was quite underwhelming. The rice was not seasoned or piping hot like the etoufe. It was good enough to eat, but not write home about. My husband got the burger and was unimpressed. The fries that we were served were sitting for a while, but the replacement came quickly. Overall I'd give my meal a 6/10. The bar was really pretty but I don't drink so I can't give that a review. But here's a pic!
Dietary restrictions: There are two dairy free options. The shrimp etoufee and the jambalaya.

Arriving at 2:15, they stopped serving and seating individuals even though advertised hours were to 3pm. Would really appreciate an update on business hours to reflect service, especially on Father's Day, to not waste time.
