Sadly, the atmosphere and menu have declined recently. They now hand you paper menus, come on do better! I hope they turn it around quickly!

Nice atmosphere and good service—we enjoyed the outdoor seating by the fireplace. Drinks were great (Silver Oaks red and a ginger beer mocktail), and the bread board and Brussels sprouts were solid starters.

Unfortunately, the entrĂ©es and dessert were a big disappointment. The carbonara noodles lacked flavor, and the guanciale was inedible—overly salty, greasy, and unpleasant. The rigatoni with wild boar was heavy and unbalanced. The tiramisu, which I was most excited for, was dry and bland, more like plain cake than a proper tiramisu.

For the price, we expected much better. Aside from the drinks and appetizers, nothing impressed.

My wife and I have been reliable customers over the last few years. A birthday dinner in May was just the best, most delicious experience we had come to expect from Toscana. Sadly our experience dining there last night was much, much the contrary. The menu has been pared down enough to notice as have to portion sizes. We both left still hungry. The physical menu my wife held was different than mine, the text smaller, some descriptions entirely omitted. Odd-but kind of foretelling of the new direction. Beer isn’t even on the menu anymore-I had to inquire as to whether they still served it. Perhaps the most disastrous change has come to the dessert menu. We ALWAYS count on an espresso margarita paired with the tiramisu. The martini remains as good as ever (thank you). The tiramisu however was dead upon arrival. A portion of it was frozen, another portion swimming in water with no discernible taste whatsoever. I brought it to the attention of our server and asked what changed and she acknowledged the new, perhaps less-than approach of “made-to-order”. The meal simply is not worth the price of dropping $100 and going home hungry. The only saving grace from last nights experience was the service. Our server was reliable and personable and empathetic to the sloppy dessert. Unfortunately even the best service in the world is unlikely to bring us back to Toscana. A shame as this used to be one of the best meals in town.

We love this restaurant in our city
we went on a usual date night to find out the whole menu had changed and our favorites were gone off the menu. We gave it a chance and tried new pasta items and were very disappointed. Very small portions and the food frankly was not that great. We loved coming here and are very sad the menu is very limited now. We had great service by Tyler and would like to have him recognized.

Onenofnour group sent his meal back. Cold and dry. Not a good combination in a pork chop.
They totally got another person's order wrong.
The tuna appetizer was ridiculous.
Not even three full bites.
Don't waste your time and the excessive amount of money to eat here

We have enjoyed Tuscano in Lansing. It is a new restaurant and we have made sure to get reservations. They do not have their own parking lot so you can get lucky and get street parking or you have to park in a pay lot. The food is very good but it is in the higher end. Portions are large so we usually share an appetizer and then an entree. Our servers have been friendly but it can be a long drawn out meal.

I rarely leave reviews, but this was by far one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a very long time. I brought my family here for dinner, and every single one of the five entrĂ©es we ordered was extremely disappointing.

The wait for our food was unreasonably long—over an hour—and despite repeatedly asking for the bread we had paid for, it took forever to arrive. When the meals finally came, the quality was shockingly poor, with flavors that were comparable to something straight from a jar.

To make matters worse, the restaurant was clearly understaffed. Our server was left to handle everything on her own—taking orders, delivering food, busing tables—which only added to the disorganization of the evening.

Sadly, this was a very poorly run restaurant with inedible food, and I will not be returning.

Terrible service, terrible management, cold food. I made this reservation for a special occasion and I was so excited to celebrate, but this restaurant was absolutely careless. Took forever to make a drink order then forever to make a food order. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive, two of the meals were steaks so when the manager asked how things were going we were honest saying the food was taking a very long time. The excuse was they were “resting” the steaks, but apparently resting means letting all meals sit out and get cold because every single meal was not hot but cold like it had been left out. The manager could not care less about this and constantly made excuses. We will never come back here and we will make sure to tell others of our experience so they will not make reservations. This was really such a huge disappointment for a place with such a premium price.

I’m really disappointed with this place. the food, didn’t even seem to meet basic expectations. The staff is inconsistent. I’ve heard of at least 3 general managers and they are not even there anymore. Front-of-house and back-of-house staff and managers are treated terribly which reflects in how the entire operation runs. It’s clear this company has major internal issues from poor customer service, unorganized staff, and lackluster food quality. Do better.

I'm writing this review because I'm not sure what happened to this place and I'm hoping more reviews like this will help them. I went here for the first time in February 2024. It was easily one of the best meals I have ever had, the pasta was clearly freshly made, and the bread basket was to DIE for. The service was excellent and overall we were so excited, we deemed it our new favorite place. We went back once more and had the same experience.

Then in December of 2024 we went again and were...confused to say the least. The menu had changed - some of our favorite options were gone. And the bread basket was completely different. I've included an image of what the bread basket looked like originally. The new bread basket no longer has the delicious, cakey bread that you see below. Instead just a plain sourdough, nothing to write home about. The cream cheese spread? Replaced with standard butter. The focaccia is no longer well seasoned and fresh, but rather overly salty and stale. And the pasta now also seems overly salty, oily, and just not fresh. We've gone back once more to give it another shot, but had the same lackluster experience. I also learned a friend of mine went there recently and had a horrible experience.

I'm just upset because this place used to be incredible and it's so sad to see it just becoming another overly priced, poor food quality place.

I went to Toscana for a work meeting and was happy with the quality of food, the attentiveness of the wait staff and the large selection of wines available. I ordered the bolognese, which was very well made. The waitress made sure to bring refills of beverages and was very friendly.

i have been here so many times and cant believe how bad this experience was! had some friends from out of town and wanted to take them to a nice restaurant...i made a reservation, when we got there, they did have a table ready for us...told us to pick a "spot!" wasnt a table for the four of us so had to put something together. then we sat for our 20 min to get a drink...the rest of the night had to beg to get service...either chasing down our server or a manager1 been coming here for years and this was embarrassing and frustrating!! the WORST service EVER!!!

John

Had the tortelli with pork belly. Good but not memorable. Wife had scallops with same impression. Service was superior. Very professional with good suggestions.
