When my friends and I were seated on the patio we noticed it was difficult to carry a conversation across the table from one another with the umbrella down, so we hoisted it up as did guests at other tables.
About 10mins-15mins later a busboy came over as we were mid conversation and started proping our umbrella down unexpectedly, which struck our heads and forced us to manuver our drinks from being spilled onto us. As this rude interruption left us confused looking at the busboy he said "I was told by my managers that I have to take down the umbrellas, there's no reason why, I don't get paid enough to do this and if yall don't like it my managers said we can move your asses inside." I asked for the manager so we could clear up the confusion.
Jenny the Manager came and I had simply asked about the umbrella situation. Jenny gave us this company explanation that because "high gusts and winds" were reported on the weather app that the umbrellas needed to come down. So I responded by asking that they simply remove the umbrella from our table since they did exactly that for another table directly behind us.
Jenny said that she cannot remove them because they are all anchored down and reinforced so that they do not "blow" away which is not as scientific as she wanted to make it sound and left us even more puzzled because they had removed one for another party just minutes before.
My buddy even mentioned he thought it was because he was the only colored person in the restaurant which I hope isn't the reasoning for any of the mistreatment.
The water and flags were as still as ever to which there were no high gusts or winds, there was no rain, no storm, no sun, and like the busboy said no reason to take the umbrella down. The winds were a measly 7MPH which according to the national weather advisory is considered to be a "light breeze."
Needless to say this was the first and unfortunately the last time dining here because of this confusingly silly and insulting experience.
Food was good, management behavior and ethics were appalling speaking about paying customers like that.

We went to Lake Inn while visiting Lapeer. The staff was very friendly and gave great recommendations. We got a green tea shot which was mixed perfectly. The French onion soup was so flavorful and good. We got the steak special, chicken quesadilla, fish tacos, club sandwich, and walleye dinner. All were great only recommendation was the walleye fish could have been crispier. It was a little soggy

If you enjoy frozen food instead of freshly prepared entrees this is your place. Very disappointed with service, food and experience. We ordered 5 different entrees and ALL were disappointing. Place seems to be run by young inexperienced staff. Would NOT recommend.

I’m kind of confused as to why I didn’t go as well as it did last time I came. I came with a pretty large party a couple months ago and sat outside and everybody seemed to get served pretty quickly. Everybody got the food they ordered and we were comfortable Now I came here today with my sister-in-law and my daughter. We sat inside because it didn’t look like they were seating us outside whatsoever. I did not see one person out there so we just didn’t ask. It took forever to get service . they literally could not find my waitress other waitresses were looking for the individual. I ordered two mud slides one for me and one for my sister-in-law and I just saw them sitting at the bar. What seems like 10 minutes at the least I was half tempted to just go get it myself. By the time we receive them they were half melted Which at that point we didn’t care. We finally got our food. We ordered fish tacos. They were good, but the service was lacking. I’m not sure if the server was over sat. I’m not sure if she wasn’t feeling well or maybe she just had something going on that day. Maybe it was just a fluke, but it took way longer than needed. That is for sure and I noticed it wasn’t just my table. It was all the table she was dealing with. There was a gentleman just two tables behind me, waiting for her to the point that he was standing up and walking around the restaurant looking for her while asking where she is so they can leave. I’ll try back some other time and hopefully I can say some better things.
