My husband and I went for dinner last night and were not disappointed. We both got the Italian beef and sausage combo, I got mac and cheese while he got fried cabbage. Everything was tasty and presented lovely. My sandwich was messy so I moved it to a plate from it's basket and my husband plowed through the mess with no regrets.
Monique is a lovely woman and Rico is a fantastic chef.
My only question is why is this place not packed full?

Food was amazing and delicious. We've gone twice now and enjoyed everything. We both had the Italian beef and sausage combo. Messy but worth every napkin we went through. Why is this place not packed full on a Saturday night?
Quality food that you can't find anymore.
Service was very friendly!

Thanks for giving me the last piece of amazing chocolate cake for my birthday! ❤️ The BBQ sauce on the rib tips was also AMAZING.

Fruit Street Kitchen has the very best catfish I've ever had. Cornbread is on-point, too, as is the fried cabbage, which features smoked turkey, carrots, and green peppers. But you don't want to miss the glazed Brussel sprouts (Candied Sprouts), served with melted blue cheese and a generous amount of bacon.
Their story is a good one, too, one that began with Monique offering food to friends and family on social media and is now one of the top soul food restaurants in West Michigan. Please -- disregard the haters.
This place is a little out of the way, but 100% worth the drive. My companion is already talking about wanted to make a trip to Lawrence every time she is in town.

This place was really good, I had catfish and turkey dressing, my guy had rib tips and fried cabbage. Food was cooked to perfection. Service was really good. Monique was a great server being the owner. And make sure you get the koolaid. Definitely will visit again?

Waited 45 minutes for over seasoned food, we usually leave after waiting 30 minutes, they need to work on serving food more timely. Waitress didn't check on us after food served. Worst, won't go back!!
