Spent the weekend touring the Sleepy Bear Dunes coastal towns. This was by far the best food and the best value of any of the restaurants we stopped at. 4 sandwiches, 3 sodas, 2 beers for $75. 30 minute wait was absolutely worth it. I hate waiting for food and I'm SOOO glad I waited. 10/10 would do again.
This little cheese shop is adorable and oh so friendly! It has an amazing selection of cheeses and sandwiches. The kind folks working there made amazing suggestions and were so lovely to us. Our niece was visiting for the first time from Sweden and said it’s her new favorite shop in Northern Michigan. (She thought the cheese shop guys were really cute too. :)) Highly recommend stopping by! (Don’t forget to bring cash!)
Have tried it several times. Average sandwiches, stale/not cooked right pretzel bread — and way too much bread. Like way too much. Gordon’s food service van parked out front the last time I was there. Getting by on location and tourists. If you gotta eat, it’s ok. Would not do nearly as well if there was real competition around. It’s the location and local atmosphere that they reap big rewards from.
