My son was in MI a couple of weeks ago. I asked him to bring me back some pasties (I live in TN). He had brought me some once before and so he went back to that pace but it was out of business. So I guess he googled and found this place. Well...he got a baker's dozen and brought them back. I might have one left in the freezer. They are delicious!!! I lived in Garden City for 33 years and there used to be a place, Northwood's Pasties, not far from me in Westland....
Stopped for a pasty lunch special and found an excellent beef pasty with a hearty gravy. The crust was flaky and light, the filling had nice big bite-size pieces of meat and veggies — and that hard rolled edge is supposed to be there, dip it in the gravy! Tasted just like they do at home in the UP, I was thrilled to find them and will be back. Mouth, stomach, heart and wallet are all happy 👍 Thanks!
Could be rated a 5 if didn't charge you an extra 3%. Also I would rate Uncle Peters pastys better. I find Uncle Peters pastys at several area grocery stores as well as their own stores so they are much easier to obtain than Nick's. Nick's has a lot to learn about doing business.
