Our dinner outside on the patio at The Carriage House was outstanding. Beautiful views, professional service, and great, fine-dining food. If there is a better restaurant on the island I would like to eat there! Tip: Make reservations and request outside table during the warmer weather (they do have space heaters).

Excellent dining experience from the service with Coleman to the delicious food. Started with the lobster, artichoke, Parmesan dip as an appetizer to the veal entree; the food was wonderful. Special call out for the presentation of the two salads, “stacked” and lightly dressed!

Food quality was excellent, ambience was exceptional on the waterfront. However the most memorable quality of this restaurant was the wait staff. The wait staff was available but didn't hover, they were informed but not pushy, they were as professional as I have seen in a long time.

Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere but our server Amber, basically treated us like we couldn’t afford the meal. She was snarky at best, when she brought the food she asked if we were going to put our napkins in our laps. If it weren’t for the bad taste left in my mouth from her attitude the food may have been more palatable. Over all the food was mediocre, we only ordered salads and soup but they were underwhelming. I brought my mom, daughter and niece there for what we expected to be a pleasant nice meal, and left disappointed by the whole experience.

Longer review; lovely setting, live music, excellent food, fantastic wine list. Wife and I didn't do any appetizers this time around, but the entrees we ordered were exceptional and paired well with the wine.
Unfortunately, there was a large piece of plastic that had made its way into my dish due to an unfortunate breakage in the kitchen.
The manager did come out to address it, and they comped my meal, along with a complimentary dessert. What I _did_ eat of my meal was delicious, though, and I'm certainly planning on trying the same dish again next time we come by, because we will certainly be coming back. Both the wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and this is a must-try on the island.

Always a go-to for special occasions, this will be our last. The hostesses were just standing around, totally indifferent. Our server started out strong, then it was like we weren't even there. We had to hunt him down for our check, then realized birthday dessert hadn't been served. By the time it arrived we were more than ready to go, took it home in a to-go box. Oh, and the food was less than mediocre. Most disappointing all the way around...

Lovely restaurant. Service was great. Mushroom soup was phenomenal as was the hot fudge cream puff that we split! Our only complaint was with the filet. My husband and I both chose it for our entree. While it was a great cut of beef, it was virtually tasteless. Cooked to our liking but no seasoning which made it taste just blah. We also noticed that the menu and pricing listed on Open Table is very outdated. Don't go in expecting those prices! It is truly a beautiful restaurant with gorgeous views. We have had wonderful meals there in the past. I am sure it was just an off night.
Very nice restaurant on Mackinac Island. Could be the best compared to The Grand Hotel. Excellent service and very good food with hugh portions! Dress is supposed to be smart casual but we saw people in blue jeans and a few in shorts but it's nice to wear slacks once on the island. One of a few places that take reservations.

Beautiful atmosphere, great piano music in the background , noise level low which is really rare to find nowadays, food was excellent .. husband had scallop dish , I had the gnocchi dish . Service is above and beyond. We decided to have desert in our room at the hotel after taking a walk downtown so the server delivered it to our room . Can't say enough good things about this dining experience !
We sat outside with the amazing view. And the food and service was very very good. Whoever thought to lay a perfectly cooked halibut on top of a crab cake was a genius. And the hummer for dessert was pure pmmmmmm. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but the ingredients are high quality and flavor is excellent.
