Soooo delicious! The Raspberry Mango slushie, Barbie chicken, festivals and service was all amazing. Superb! Chantelle was our server and she was a delight! We couldn’t recommend this more!

Ultimately the food and service by our very new server was good, however the 'process' was not. On Mackinac Island in December so only 2 restaurants were open. Called Kingston Kitchen about 1 pm Friday and made a reservation for that evening for 4. Upon arrival they had no reservation for us (several open tables that they said were all reserved) and when the unapologetic hostess went to check with someone she came back and just said they didn't have our reservation and no tables until 9 pm. I reluctantly ask about the next night and she said she had either 4:30 or 8 even though I could see their list and there were only 5-6 names on the entire list for the night. I took 4:30. The next day, on a whim our friend called and inquired and immediately was able to get. 6:30 reservation?? I called and canceled my 4:30 and when we arrived at 6:30 we were immediately seated. Who knows what's up but in the end the food was good.

Super ambience and truly authentic Jamaican food! Really enjoyed our meal. A real gem on the island.

Everything was delicious and we ate a lot of it! Fish sandwich, sweet potato tots, slaw, j*** chicken, beef, calamari, ginger pineapple drink, carrot cake. Everything was cooked to perfection. Complimentary interesting flavors and textures. We are so glad we came. Great friendly service too. We will definitely be back.

The food was marginal, not much flavor & we were expecting the white fish to be excellent. It was thin & very average. The plate was surrounded by mashed potatoes that were dry and flavorless. The weight staff was marginally pleasant as it's the end of their season. But the price was high enough that they should of taken more effort & been tastier.

This was our second visit here and it was as amazing as the first !! Thank you for wonderful food and your very friendly staff. Our server (Candaise) made both visits very special. Looking forward to more great meals with your team.

The Big Bamboo Bloody Mary is a beautiful monster.

Room was larger than I expected, had a pull out couch, and the kitchenette had all appliances. The place is more like a small apartment building than a hotel, and doesnt have an escalater. Shower, toilet and bathroom sink were emmaculate, they looked brand new and never used. Could use fresh paint everywhere, and a little more attention to detail, there were cobwebs and dead bugs in most corners. Furnishings are dated, but seemed pretty clean, the location is nice, being right on top of Kingston Kitchen restaurant and across from Sheplers dock on the western end of downtown. Could definitely use a change of carpeting, its pretty old and matted. Can get slightly noisy with music coming from downstairs bar, but not overbearing. Staff was friendly, but didnt have much interaction with them. There are plenty of opening windows with screens in the living room and bedroom, and there are box fans. There is a vacuum, baby bed and small ironing board that will need to be used on the counter top. Living room space had an air conditioner with window exhaust, ceiling fan, also a small balcony overlooking Hoban street and Great Turtle Brewery Restaurant. Great price considering location, and would certainly book again when staying in downtown Mackinac Island.

We were fortunate to stumble upon this slightly-off-the-main-drag restaurant on Mackinac Island. Food prices in the island are quite high. Almost every sit-down restaurant we looked at had dinner prices into the $20s-$30s for entrees. Kingston is different - offering delicious Jamaican cuisine. The sorrel sangria cocktail I ordered before dinner was large, festive, and full of flavor, unlike some of the cocktails I've had elsewhere on the island that seemed diluted. But our food. When you're paying those prices, the food better hold up, am I right? At Kingston, the food shines. We ordered two dishes and split them, though the portions were generous enough that I gave the rest of my 1/2s to my husband. First dish was off the Jamaican section of the menu - the coconut curry chicken. Mmmmm.... This dish was delish! I'm not a big fan of beans, but they were lightly mixed in with the rice, not overpowering at all. The second dish we chose was the j*** chicken fettuccine, also fantastic. I loved the sauce - ample but not heavy. We may come back for it. The food took time (not too much) to come out after we ordered which tells me they were preparing it to order and it felt fresh. This also meant we could sip our drinks, relax, and enjoy a leisurely meal. It feeling as though we were being pushed through like tourist cattle. Our server and the host wormhole seated us were delightful - helpful in offering drink or food selections. Bottom line. You'll pay big bucks for dinner on the island regardless. So you may as well come here to eat & drink well and leave satisfied you found this little gem on the island!

Good food, though mine was a bit cold. I had the curry chicken. It was good, but didn't quite have the flavor I'd say an Indian curry dish. Very nice and pleasant servers

We picked this option for lunch as it seemed to offer a more unique menu and it was a great pick! My friends and I ordered a variety of items (the Jamaican Patty was great!) and there are a number of items I'd love to come back and try. Beer/wine options were perfectly fine - I think they stood out with their cocktail menu though - pretty sure I saw a Bloody Mary with a J*** Sandwich stacked on it! Also had a chance to chat with Chef Shawn - super friendly, and passionate about his restaurant, and I enjoyed seeing the way he interacted with his staff. They seem to enjoy working with him and I could see why. Worth stopping by!

Amazing food and great customer service. We started eating before I thought about taking pictures. Get the whitefish dip as an appetizer. It does not disappoint! Monique was an excellent server!
