Sitting out in the balcony provides the best view on the island. Service was fast and friendly.

Went in the morning and had a mimosa, that was pretty strong, and the turkey blt. The blt was absolutely delicious. Only downfall was we kept having bees surround us. I sacrificed my cherry from my mimosa and they mostly left us alone. I can't remember what my husband had besides a mountain dew.

I don't really know what went wrong today. We were greeted and seated on the balcony overlooking the harbor and promptly put in our order. One hot tea, one hot coffee. We were brought waters. 35 minutes passed and we still didn't have our tea and coffee. The server came to check on us and reiterated, "one tea, one coffee?" And we said, "Yes, that's us," assuming she was able to bring them to the table. But she responded, "Okay, I'll go get your check!" and promptly disappeared again. That's when we realized she was about to ask us to pay for the drinks we never received. We just up and left. The view was beautiful, but I don't think we'll be returning.

Food was really good and views were amazing! The chicken salad sandwich (pictured) was delicious and the smash burger (pictured) was great too according to my girl

Over the years my wife and I enjoyed pie, ice cream and coffee at the Tea Room. However, in our last 2 visits we have found the porch dirty, tables in poor care and the pie was more like a turnover. Not the place it once was. Will not go back.

The food was good but the service was slow. I requested a bill 4 times before it ever showed up. One staffer, dressed in black clothes and a black apron, came to me and said, with a patronizing attitude, "we don't bring the bill while you are still eating, we bring the bill after you eat." When he said that, my plate was almost empty and my utensils were laying on the plate. Wouldn't it have been much easier to just bring the bill and leave the attitude behind.

It's a long walk to get there, relaxing, friendly staff and a large menu.

We were seated right on the front of the fort with great views of the island. I had the chicken salad sandwich and really enjoyed it. A little bit pricey, but worth the price. I would highly recommend.

August 2024 - My family of 5 came here to grab a bite to eat and to enjoy the beautiful view. I have 3 daughters from age 7-11 and they loved the food. We ordered the assorted scones, milkshakes for the girls (chocolate and two strawberries) and a board of cheese, crackers and some meat. Overall the food and drinks were very good. The jam and mustard were really good. However, I felt we could have had more meat but other than that the food was good. The view is wild, you get a great shot of the area and off to the far right you can see the bridge. The second server we had was good but the first person we had didn't seem to care to be there. I wouldn't let that hurt my time and I would suggest you come by for the view and some good food or drinks.

Get the scones! One of the best bites we had on the island was the scones with clotted cream. They were so delicious and 1000x better than the ones you get at the Grand Hotel Afternoon Tea. If you don't think you like scones (like I did), you havent had good ones. These were hot and fresh, dripping with a honey glaze and so soft. Add the clotted cream and a tiny amount of jam and it is an amazing bite.

We also got the flatbread and cheese plate which were yummy and filling. The view of course is to die for, but we will come back to the Fort just for the scones.

We've enjoyed lunch sat the Tea Room at Fort Mackinac on several occasions. This is owned/operated by the Grand Hotel, so food and service are always top notch. On this visit we had the Michigan Cherry Chicken Salad sandwich and a BLT w/Smoked Turkey sandwich, chips, and soft drinks. Both sandwiches were delish and the view from the tea room is spectacular (see the photo). After lunch, we wandered around Fort Mackinac--lots of improvements have been made that make this a tourist-friendly spot. The "soldiers" at the Fort are well informed, entertaining, and make it a "must see" for everyone. Lots of history in those old buildings. The day we were there the Girl Scouts were our hostesses throughout the Fort and they did a wonderful job welcoming and answering questions. Kudos to all!

Only redeeming quality of this was the view and the servers. They were very friendly and happy to be there. The food was very bad. I got the BLT and it came on an I toasted hamburger bun. I mean at least toast it. Very disappointed ?. I had great memories as a child here with great food and presentation. It's very down hill.

The allure of this place is all in the view.. service and attention to detail by staff is the absolute last thing on their mind. Lovely photos, lackluster interactions.
