Great breakfast on the island. We had avocado toast with a chocolate raspberry pop tart. We also purchased the homemade energy bites for a snack while bike riding. All were great.
They also had a fun selection of merchandise.

Fantastic little cafe on the water. I had a breakfast sandwich on sourdough with a cherry coffee and a pumpkin "poppy". Good inexpensive food. Only downside is no bathroom. You have to walk to the visitors center, about 1 min walk. But I did just have my morning coffee.

This place was absolutely delicious! We ended up visiting it twice on our short stay on the island. They have amazing breakfast and lunch. I would definitely go there again if we are ever back.

We adored watercolor cafe! It lives up to the hype. We went for a quick lunch and shared a sandwich and a pop tart (poppie) and it was perfect and inexpensive compared to other places on the island. Beautiful views, adorable interior, and sooo tasty. I’ll be dreaming about that pop tart until I can visit again?

Very cozy and relaxing spot for a morning coffee. The best part was the Poppy's aka homemade pop-tarts. The home crust and filling was to die for. They have different flavors daily so go as much as you can if you're staying overnight on the island!.

Wow! Big hit with the adults and kids. The Poppies, their homemade pop tarts, were fantastic. So were the cinnamon rolls. Breakfast sandwiches were huge - almost two meals worth. And the guy who helped us at the counter (not sure of his name but rocking a fire dept jacket) was next level kind and enjoyable to talk to. This little cafe will be a must-stop for us in future trips.

This is a cute idea. I love the quirky design of the place. And it has a pleasant water view.
The coffees were all very very sweet. And the poppy tart was way too sweet. We paid $7.50 for a pop tart and really didn't care for it. I think it was the filling. The filling was tasteless, it needed cinnamon or something interesting to balance all the sweetness and butter. But the crust was good.
The breakfast egg wrap has too much mayo in it and not enough of the other ingredients.
I'd probably come back to try their acai bowl, though.
Service was very sweet as well.

Amazing little cafe with unique, tasty food offerings at a great price for Mackinac Island. We had the Breakfast sandwich and the Maple Morning Brie Cheese Toast with Blueberry Infused lemonade. This will be our go to for breakfast every trip to the Island!!!

My husband and I took up residence just opposite the Island House Hotel. At the crack of dawn on our inaugural day, we made our way to the charming Watercolor Cafe, a cozy nook by the water's edge beckoning with its art and inviting shopfront. Such a delightful discovery! The atmosphere was laced with a captivating fragrance, and the initial taste of their noble coffee was a coronation for my taste buds. From this moment forward, this shall be my haven of coffee nirvana.
Our last morning on the island before getting on the ferry, we came here. The s’mores poppie and lilac latte were incredible, and that’s an understatement. The breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito we had were just okay, nothing to write home about. Service was really nice in the shop. We loved this spot and wished we’d gotten it in at least one more time on this trip. :)
We bought several of the merch/gift items they had available for purchase, over $100 worth on top of the food and drinks we’d tried. This trip to the island was to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary, and my husband actually didn’t want anything to take home until a hat we found here at this cafe. Somehow we didn’t actually have it when we were going through our things maybe an hour later, and I called the shop to request if I could buy another and pay whatever they wanted for shipping it to us. I got a text not long after that, just saying they don’t offer shipping. So that was a real bummer. I felt so bad, that hat was the only thing my husband wanted the whole trip.
Wheelchair accessibility: It’s a tight space inside the cafe. We had a baby in a travel stroller and made it work where we found a seat, but there were other spots it wouldn’t have worked so we lucked out. There is outdoor seating and if you don’t have space to maneuver beyond ordering, they’ll bring your order outside to you.
