How have we missed this? We've been coming to the UP for decades and never knew about this place! The food was amazing, they are open and serving late (by local standards) and the beer selection has something for everyone. Bonus points for live music!

Service was great and food was great! The graffiti was a little different but big deal, it’s the way it is… Princess was our server and she was wonderful. They had live music on a Wednesday night and they were really good! Forget the bad reviews, come enjoy!

8 of us wanted to come and eat, but they refused to accept us without any reason. It's a disgraceful place. They didn't even take our order, and on top of that, they want their employees to they wanna tip. I have never seen such a business in my life; they have a very loser team and are inconsiderate toward people. In the summer, I was working at another restaurant belonging to the same business, and we had a discount there. However, they put up a notice saying, “If you use the discount, you are obliged to leave a tip.” None of us ever said we wouldn’t tip anyway, so this wording was extremely rude. As you know, tipping culture is very common in America, so why would we not want to tip? I do not recommend this place at all, and I suggest you never go to any of the restaurants owned by this business.

The Dixie Saloon was not superb but was a solid choice. The staff was friendly and the food was good. The prices were a little bit high but not out of line for a tourist area. The one negative is that my wife and I felt a bit crowded, like the emphasis was more on maximizing the amount of tables that could be placed in the alloted square footage as opposed to focusing a little more on customer comfort. I would still recommend this restaurant, however.

Among the very best pizza I've ever had. Live music most nights (not really my scene, thus the deduction on atmosphere). Interior and exterior are gorgeous.

We cannot recommend Dixie Saloon enough! Wonderful food and service, many options on the menu! My drink, Dragon Berry mojito was delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Enjoyed the option to be outside. To top it off the manager personally assisted us in retrieving a personal item we left behind. Go to Dixie Saloon, you will have no regrets!!

So it’s been a few days since our visit to Dixie Saloon. I weighed heavy on this review. It was our first time to Mackinaw and seen a lot of advertising of this pub. After a day of travel, we wanted good food and to relax. We arrived and were seated upstairs. Such a neat place! We ordered food. This is where it gets interesting. My husband ordered the bacon bleu burger- No complaints. My 2 daughters ordered from the kids menu. Mac and cheese/ applesauce & Cheeseburger/Fries. I asked the server to substitute the applesauce for fries. After many times of him repeating himself that he couldn’t do that, the applesauce was complimentary. I told him enough, I understood. Now for 11.99 I don’t find a dried up scoop (no exaggeration here) of Kraft Mac and cheese and an applesauce complimentary at all. Anyways, I ordered a side of $4.99 fries. Next was the kids meal burger and fries. I mentioned to him, he asked what kind of cheese for the burger and we requested American cheese, however upon removing the bun there was no cheese. He walked away and brought out a platter with two cold slices of American cheese for the burger. It was fine at this point, I knew there was no recovering from this service failure. I ordered the fish and chips. It comes out as 5/6 square pieces of soft white fish. Not the greatest, but I guess I can say I’ve had worse. Maybe…. I’m a server myself, I know how both sides of the restaurant industry. Hence why I decided to wait a few days to see if I could justify the poor experience. I can only hope my one time there was just a bad day for that server.

This guy place was disgusting and overpriced. I got a tiny side salad that they charged $16.99 for, the soup was not warm, and the bathrooms were gross. ? The server was friendly though.

We stopped here to eat since Wienerlicious was closed. So maybe our expectations weren’t that high to begin with. We started with one waitress that got a phone call and had to leave. We hope that everything was ok. Our next waitress was good. The bathroom was very filthy for being so early in the day. Additionally the diaper changing station was down and looked disgusting. The prices are too high for a burger and chips. Maybe when you have tourists trapped in town you can get away with this. Our basic hamburger was $19 and was nothing stellar.

I wasn’t impressed with my experience. The prices were high, and the food didn’t live up to expectations. I'm not sure if it was due to the off-season, but everything seemed underwhelming. The burger was basic, even after adding on extra toppings. Overall, I was hoping for a better experience given the cost.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews. This place made it tough. The service was fantastic. Friendly, timely and efficient. The house craft beers were very good too. It’s a saloon so it looks a little dated, but perfect for a saloon.

Then we get to the food. The prices were a bit steep for the portions and quality. $20 for mashed potatoes topped with soggy pulled pork and what looked and tasted like Birds Eye’s frozen vegetable medley. Small portion to boot. Then a chicken salad sandwich, that tasted soggy as well, with wilted tomatoes. I don’t even think it’s was the kitchen staff’s fault. I think the food is at the business’ standard. Other than the wilted tomatoes the food did not seem unfresh, just premade and processed.

I don’t think it’s fair to the terrific staff to serve low quality food at those prices. I really regretted not going to KFC instead.

Would I go back? Only to enjoy the bar.
