“We were there this evening with our 4 grown granddaughters. Ages 23-30. What a beautiful experience. Our waiter John was all we could hope for. Bravo John. All the staff we encountered were great. The sweet lady who made our Flaming Peach Melba was entertaining and special. Many thanks to her. The food....Bravo. An interesting appetizer plate. Steaks cooked as everyone ordered. Baked potatoes and Asparagus a hit. One granddaughter had Philadelphia Chicken and was very pleased. I had the Lasagna. Let me tell you that while untraditional it was so good. I would order it again. I had Cole slaw...excellent. A good word for my Lasagna ...Excellent! Attentive service. Friendly and engaging. It seemed like the staff was a team. I can’t say enough good about Chippewa Room.”

More often than not, our uppity palates have been disappointed by the amount of restaurants in MI that carry solely Cisco (or the like) products.Max the tender, and Jer the cook were the only ones at the bar at 1pm on a Saturday in December. I was nervous there was no one there, but starving so we ordered the shiitake appetizer and the Brisket sandwich.We settled in with our marvelous pints and we started eating - with each bite it became more obvious that this seemingly simple food had been thought up by a person who has a delicate, discerning taste of a brewer. The flavors are expertly balanced, high quality ingredients with humble honest plating.My foodie demon has been reawakened.I tackled Max with questions, and this dude does not disappoint. a wealth of knowledge and hospitality, he probably is the closest thing you can get to the mythical bar-keep only seen in fantasy taverns.Upon telling him my experience, he recommended several other places to try on our travels- one of which we went to on our way back. Thai Orchid in Petoskey. After finishing that meal we almost cried. But that is another story.He needs to run for office. In fact, I think we should create a whole new elected official position. Culinary Cultivator and Almighty guide, or some such b.s...I also want to mention that we live in Manistee, in case some restaurateur takes pity on us and decides our community deserves more high quality, honest food.”

“This is a great winery! Service was excellent, and for $16.95, you can have a tasting and take home a glass. Mice selection of dry, sweet, and dessert wines. We enjoy everything and the experience. There are plenty of bottles to buy as well.”

“If you want superb coffee, this is the place! Quality coffee beans and well made. Of course once we had the coffee we had to taste the carrot cake which was delicious. The fudge and chocolate was next, all made from quality ingredients - and the taste is superior.Zachariah’s is well worth a visit.”

“This is a weird one to review. It's a diner. When I pulled up I was like "meh, it's a diner". On the inside, you definitely feel like you're stepping back into time a little bit more than others I've been to. It's got a classic charm to it I suppose. The cook and server were very kind and welcoming. Almost what you would expect from a classic diner. I ordered an omelette expecting hash browns but I actually received some sort of white, sliced potatoes with seasonings. I don't like potatoes. I strongly dislike potatoes. But I tried them and I am so glad I did. I ate my potatoes. That cook is the first I've come across making potatoes I will actually eat! Mr Cook, if you are reading this, you get an extra star for that. The omelette was pretty good also. Again, can I get that omelet at any other diner? Of course. Those potatoes though!”

“The pizza and cheesy bread were delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We forgot our leftovers box, and our waitress traveled down the block to return it to us. There is ample seating inside the restaurant.”

“Nonna Lisa's was the location for one meal we we had in Mackinac City, and it was amazing. It was late evening and we needed dinner. Being late in the season, many places had closed up already. Find Nonna Lisa's open proved to be a treasure. It's rustic decor is suitable for all types of dining experiences, being informal to formal. The food arrived in a timely manner, yet not rushed. Regarding the food. . . .it was delicious! It definitely set a high standard for any other place we might visit in Mackinac City. Nonna Lisa's set a high standard in food, service, and atmosphere.”

“We go here almost every time we are in mackinac city. Always clean. Food is quick and usually decent. My eggs the last time were over cooked. But bacon and hasbrowns were perfect. The coffeeis really good. Karen is one of our favorite waitresses at any place we go.”

“Pizza lunch buffet is great, especially for the price! They even asked us which pizzas we like as we paid at the beginning and brought those out onto the buffet line. They were friendly and helpful. “We have been to the UP several times and each time try pasties from different places. So far, the first two times were just okay. But this time we went to homemade pasties and it was THE BEST we have had. Crust was flakey and perfect, and the filling savory and perfectly cooked. The gravy was also beyond wonderful. I made the mistake of saying gravy only with the sliders. Do not be like past Kim. Be like Kim in a few days who will get more beef pasties with gravy. All the gravy. If they offer it in quarts, quarts of gravy. Seriously. The sliders we found were easier to eat than the regular size, but honestly you can’t go wrong either way. I did prefer the beef to chicken.”

Coffee options great and I see lunch sandwich options for a quicker bite but haven’t tried this yet. Would recommend. Also conveniently located right below where we stay. Five stars.”
