“Scalawags has fish and chips as good as I’ve had anywhere, including Ireland! The tempura batter is as good as I’ve found in Japan, and their hush puppies can’t be beat! 10 out of 10!”

“whoever "mom" is, we love you. we love this establishment and the hospitality it provided us. we frequent the area often and took our friends and employees on a trip up north to see the leaves and lights. I get bad anxiety in vehicles so we stopped here to get a drink before I made the long haul to the UP. My ex-husband gave us limited time but when we got there it was jamming. the hostess looked at "mom" and asked if she could accommodate us quickly. "MOM" didn't only accommodate us, she represented the company so well that forever more I'll say "mom's place." I love you, mom.”

“We were there on the 24th of March 2026 for breakfast. The price of coffee was $4.00 and a cup of hot water was $1.99 cents. We had a tuna melt sandwich was way to large and a smaller size would have been better”

“I recently visited Mackinaw city and discovered Di Island. I had the curried tofu with a side of beans and rice!! So good I was back the next day. I highly recommend Di Island, Great food and super friendly staff!!”

“Stopped in for the first time today. We’re from a city outside of Detroit. We’re known for our coney dogs so I wanted to try theirs. Absolutely did not disappoint! It was so good! We also tried a corn dog and it tasted like the ones you would get at the fair. Will be our go to spot when we travel this way!”

“Good ice cream nothing spectacular. Disappointed I didn't get the flavor I asked for. The one a got was a little too much on the fudgy pieces and had peanut butter which I dont care for in my ice cream. Also the hot fudge was a little grainy.”

“This place has four cases of about twenty different flavors of ice cream. It could be bad if you’re indecisive… but you’ll definitely find at least one flavor to love! They had blue moon, plus “blue play dough” — a unique combo of blue moon with sugar cookie pieces. PLUS a Superman waffle cone to put it in!? SO COOL. We will definitely be stopping by here every time we are near the area 😍 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

“Sullys Sweet Shop has a huge unique selection of goods from sodas to candies from around the world, and other nostalgic items you cannot find in the big box stores. The atmosphere is cheerfully amazing and so much fun!!”

“They were kind and made up for missed parts of the order. I would recommend. Only downside there is not enough space to sit and eat in the restaurant. It is a carry out only style for food.”

“The food was delicious, the staff extremely courteous and took care of all our orders swiftly and the restaurant was so clean too. The owner was a delightful host and his kindness to us was so nice. You can tell he takes great pride in his restaurant and it shows. I give the restaurant 5 stars.”
