“We have been to the UP several times and each time try pasties from different places. So far, the first two times were just okay. But this time we went to homemade pasties and it was THE BEST we have had. Crust was flakey and perfect, and the filling savory and perfectly cooked. The gravy was also beyond wonderful. I made the mistake of saying gravy only with the sliders. Do not be like past Kim. Be like Kim in a few days who will get more beef pasties with gravy. All the gravy. If they offer it in quarts, quarts of gravy. Seriously. The sliders we found were easier to eat than the regular size, but honestly you can’t go wrong either way. I did prefer the beef to chicken.”
“Had a great experience! This was my husband and I’s first time having a pasty. Let me just say they did not disappoint! The cookies here are also amazing. The staff and service were both exceptional. Very pleased and definitely recommend!”
“Stopped in for lunch and got the dog and burger combo. The burger was good and the dog was the best I've ever had. And the faygo was the perfect finishing touch.”
“Very nice staff. Excellent and delicious food. The blueberry pancakes are a must try. We visit St. Ignace two times a year and make sure to stop by for some delicious food and bake goods.”
“This place has the best smoked whitefish and lake trout dip in MI. They also have an excellent rotation of different smoked fish. Definitely recommend Mac straits fish co!!!”
“We stopped into this unassuming “carry out” because of their pasties sign along route 2. Upon entry we were warmly greeted by the two most friendly people in the UP. They made recommendations on which pasty to purchase. So we purchased some frozen and two hot ones for the ride home. To give honor to the UP, we cracked one open on the bridge. Wow!!! What a treat. This was the most flavorful, overstuffed pasty in our our travels in the UP. The beef pasties had chunks of beef, potato and rutabaga. You could taste each ingredient with each bite. The pasties were so moist, and flavorful, no gravy was necessary. Way to much chance for problems when driving. I Gi be this our highest recommendation for my favorite pasties in the UP. Our only regret is not getting more than 6 frozen pasties. This will make our return trip to the UP only more flavorful. Keep up the great work. No need to change a thing.”
“Always visit when we're in st. Ignace. Fresh pastries, great brownies and the pizza is always good. Definitely a quick place to stop for fast breakfast or lunch when you're out exploring. They have fresh meats, jerky, soda and beer too.”

“This ice cream store is a former double decker bus. The top is open for guests to sit and eat their ice cream. The bottom is the store. They have mostly hand dipped ice cream. There are tables and umbrellas for guests to sit outside. It's right next door to a nice beach and playground if you want to take a walk with your ice cream.”
“Out of this World Breakfast the Biscuits and gravy melt in your mouth!! It comes with 2large eggs your way on top. Great little Diner to enjoy a great cup of coffee or Cappacino.”
“The truth is what you would expect out of a Burger King however the staff was polite helpful and extremely energetic. You could feels Good by this when you walked through the door seems to be a good environment.”
“Great place to have a meal and drink with friends. We sat at the bar in the winter and devoured the white fish. We returned on our boat this summer to enjoy a yummy meal on the open deck. There's a little splash pad and a nice grassy area for the kids. Great place to dine and unwind with little ones.”
“No rooms were available, but the food was just the comfort food we needed! And what outshined the food was the service! Gail and Dee made us feel like family and Justin served up an impressive package?Food & drinks: Forget the hotel, stay for the food and lovely staff!”
“While the food was great, the front hostess and waitress were on the verge of being downright rude. Not in the least bit friendly. Hostess seemed annoyed at everyone that came in. Definitely can use a refresher course on how to interact with customers.”
“The staff were very busy but friendly and helpful. Food was good, the kitchen appeared clean.Vegetarian options: I had a vegetarian taco, hard corn shells are gluten free.Dietary restrictions: Corn shells are all gluten free”

“Great place for a quick eat on a budget. One of the cheapest places to get breakfast on the island. You can also order your breakfast to go if you don’t want to eat there. The diner is small but the tables turnover ”
“Wow! What a hidden gem. We had lunch at King's two days ago and we're still talking about how delicious it was. Best fish and fries we've had in forever. Also filled our cooler with filets to tide us over until our next visit!”
“We just go for dinner usually. They have great food executed to perfection every time. Staff is friendly and attentive even when extremely busy. Perch dinner and some wings never disappoint!”
“Jason and the cannonball oasis saved our wedding. We didn’t plan on freezing weather at the British landing and he was so kind and gave us shelter and hot chocolate! Best fried pickles ever too! Can’t thank him enough ❤️”
“We were there this evening with our 4 grown granddaughters. Ages 23-30. What a beautiful experience. Our waiter John was all we could hope for. Bravo John. All the staff we encountered were great. The sweet lady who made our Flaming Peach Melba was entertaining and special. Many thanks to her. The food....Bravo. An interesting appetizer plate. Steaks cooked as everyone ordered. Baked potatoes and Asparagus a hit. One granddaughter had Philadelphia Chicken and was very pleased. I had the Lasagna. Let me tell you that while untraditional it was so good. I would order it again. I had Cole slaw...excellent. A good word for my Lasagna ...Excellent! Attentive service. Friendly and engaging. It seemed like the staff was a team. I can’t say enough good about Chippewa Room.”
“On vacation for a week and we ordered twice from here. The girl on the other end was super nice and the delivery guys were great with a happy attitude. Food was excellent too.”
“I’ve seen this place for years, but never had eaten here because we have other must stop places when we visit the area. But as they were all closed on this visit, we came here. And now I see what we were missing. The food was very good, and the workers were very friendly. Now we have a new favorite to stop in at when we visit Mackinaw!”
“I don't know how to write this review. I don't have the appropriate words. It was a spiritual experience. Bear with me.We are foodies from the west coast, and moved to Michigan a year ago. More often than not, our uppity palates have been disappointed by the amount of restaurants in MI that carry solely Cisco (or the like) products.Max the tender, and Jer the cook were the only ones at the bar at 1pm on a Saturday in December. I was nervous there was no one there, but starving so we ordered the shiitake appetizer and the Brisket sandwich. We settled in with our marvelous pints and we started eating - with each bite it became more obvious that this seemingly simple food had been thought up by a person who has a delicate, discerning taste of a brewer. The flavors are expertly balanced, high quality ingredients with humble honest plating. My foodie demon has been reawakened.I tackled Max with questions, and this dude does not disappoint. a wealth of knowledge and hospitality, he probably is the closest thing you can get to the mythical bar-keep only seen in fantasy taverns.Upon telling him my experience, he recommended several other places to try on our travels- one of which we went to on our way back. Thai Orchid in Petoskey. After finishing that meal we almost cried. But that is another story. He needs to run for office. In fact, I think we should create a whole new elected official position. Culinary Cultivator and Almighty guide, or some such b.s...I also want to mention that we live in Manistee, in case some restaurateur takes pity on us and decides our community deserves more high quality, honest food.”
“This is a great winery! Service was excellent, and for $16.95, you can have a tasting and take home a glass. Mice selection of dry, sweet, and dessert wines. We enjoy everything and the experience. There are plenty of bottles to buy as well.”
“I was super impressed. The menu looked so good. We had the mussels. They were delicious. I had the sweet potato burger. I was not disappointed. My husband had the grilled. The flavor was good. McKenna was awesome at serving us. Thank you so much!”
“Awesome!!!!! Breakfast sandwiches are great. Cinnamon rolls are the kids favorite - they did seem a tad smaller this year. Coffee options great and I see lunch sandwich options for a quicker bite but haven’t tried this yet. Would recommend. Also conveniently located right below where we stay. Five stars.”
“Pizza lunch buffet is great, especially for the price! They even asked us which pizzas we like as we paid at the beginning and brought those out onto the buffet line. They were friendly and helpful. Line was kept clean & refreshed. Definitely will come again and recommend to others!Kid-friendliness: Prices are great. Surprising amount of options for a smaller buffet. Plenty for kids to pick him.”
