Scalawags has fish and chips as good as I’ve had anywhere, including Ireland! The tempura batter is as good as I’ve found in Japan, and their hush puppies can’t be beat! 10 out of 10!
Perfectly cooked! Coating is just right - emphasis is on the fish!
Horrible burnt food that made us very ill. We complained to the “new” owner who when upon when I stopped talking stated “ are you done”, and walked away.
We have been going there for literally decades, it was my favorite place to get fish up north. We always take the same timeframe off work and go over days that are special to us.
After the emergency road side restroom stop we had to make several hours after eating our last meal ever here! The new owner is terrible...read full review
