We cannot recommend Dixie Saloon enough! Wonderful food and service, many options on the menu! My drink, Dragon Berry mojito was delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Enjoyed the option to be outside. To top it off the manager personally assisted us in retrieving a personal item we left behind. Go to Dixie Saloon, you will have no regrets!!

So it’s been a few days since our visit to Dixie Saloon. I weighed heavy on this review. It was our first time to Mackinaw and seen a lot of advertising of this pub. After a day of travel, we wanted good food and to relax. We arrived and were seated upstairs. Such a neat place! We ordered food. This is where it gets interesting. My husband ordered the bacon bleu burger- No complaints. My 2 daughters ordered from the kids menu. Mac and cheese/ applesauce & Cheeseburger/Fries. I asked the server to substitute the applesauce for fries. After many times of him repeating himself that he couldn’t do that, the applesauce was complimentary. I told him enough, I understood. Now for 11.99 I don’t find a dried up scoop (no exaggeration here) of Kraft Mac and cheese and an applesauce complimentary at all. Anyways, I ordered a side of $4.99 fries. Next was the kids meal burger and fries. I mentioned to him, he asked what kind of cheese for the burger and we requested American cheese, however upon removing the bun there was no cheese. He walked away and brought out a platter with two cold slices of American cheese for the burger. It was fine at this point, I knew there was no recovering from this service failure. I ordered the fish and chips. It comes out as 5/6 square pieces of soft white fish. Not the greatest, but I guess I can say I’ve had worse. Maybe…. I’m a server myself, I know how both sides of the restaurant industry. Hence why I decided to wait a few days to see if I could justify the poor experience. I can only hope my one time there was just a bad day for that server.

1st restaurant I've had to walk out on. Nobody greeted us at the door, we had to ask if we could just sit down. When we did Karen came over to take our order, she got us waters and when we tried to order our beers she said "I have to run to the kitchen and then I'll come back to get your drinks." Then we sat for about 20 minutes with our waters and she finally asks us what we want to drink, and I asked her if a beer was good and she got a nasty tone and said "I don't know I don't drink beer.". Then I asked her about the steaks they were serving and she grabbed me a steak menu and said "we're between shifts, so I'm going to see if so and so will take your order." And left again. We still didn't even have our beers. We waited awhile longer and decided to leave. The bartender was nice and very apologetic, but we just had a sour taste from our experience with Karen. How ironic her name was Karen.

I don't usually leave reviews but this was terrible, the moment we walked in there was a werid smell. We were told to seat ourselves so we did and the booth we picked smelled like mold and musty. Pushed passed it. opened one of the menus on the table and it was covered in mold. Gross. Took a while for someone to come over and great us to take our order. Finally got food order, took a while for it to come out. And the Reuben was good but my boyfriends fish sandwich was over done and didn't taste good. The price for the food was definitely more then we spent on any other restaurant on our trip.

Not only are prices higher than most places in northern Michigan. They charge an 3 %administrative fee on top of the 6% Michigan tax. plus service isn't the greatest.

Overpriced and Basic. Just like all things on Mackinac Island a waste of time and Money. Stay on the mainland and save you time and money

I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. The chicken had zero seasoning and tasted like canned chicken. My card declined due to being out of town and having security alerts on (it has been hit or miss my entire trip), and instead of quietly coming to my table to ask if I had another card, the waitress yelled across the bar to my table (in front of all other patrons) “Is there a reason this card doesn’t work?” Extremely embarrassing on top of mediocre food

We went to have drinks after our wedding with some friends and family, a group of 10 people, and were met with rude bartenders and an aggressive staff when the restaurant had only 4 people inside. At one point, one of the bartenders ate some of the food we ordered as if we wouldn't notice. We were over charged for drinks, $34 for a Miller Lite, they also turned the music up to try to drive our group out although we were not causing any problems beyond asking for drinks as you normally would. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and if you want to have a fun time with friends and family, I would go somewhere else. I would give negative stars if I could.

The atmosphere and the building it pretty cool. They didn’t have any kind of Irish food, something about sharing the same menu as the bar next to it. We sat at the bar rail, bar wasn’t busy but was passed by numerous bartenders (who didn’t even look at us) for quite some time before a guy came out and asked what we would like. We stayed for a drink and left.
