Was in the area camping and stumbled upon this gem! The minute we walked in we felt like regulars! Food was great, service friendly, the owner was such a great guy that we went several more times during pur stay. If you have never been I am telling ypu are missing out! Thank you all who we had the pleasure of meeting!
Have not been there in a couple years. Brought some friends for the wings. VERY disappointed. Wings barely done n skin was rubbery n gross. Nothing crisp in any of the 3 orders we waisted our money on. Come on I know you can do better. Cook till skin is crispy. Order plain with sauce on the side then you can tell they're barely cooked.

We took our own Walleye in for their catch and cook! $5 per person w coleslaw and tartar sauce and beans maybe...fries are an additional 3$! Outstanding! We had enough to share around the bar and it was a hit! Great staff and the gent who owns it was wonderful! We'll surely be back!🎣🙂✌️

Had the pleasure of visiting Chopos my last night in town... This is the place to go to my friends. It might look like a little hole in the wall and maybe it is... But the attentiveness and service was absolutely fantastic.
I got to dine in with a few friends 30min before the kitchen closed... We hate being those people ordering last minute.. but man did we get taken care of with smiles!
Ordered a few things off the menu. Mainly fried items but it all came out hot fresh and quick. My friend wanted the salad on the menu.. but sadly a few moments after ordering our waitress came back and said they had sold out of the salad... we said no worries and ordered something else.... we had some drinks and laughs... and about 10 minutes later the Chef/Owner comes out with a small order of the salad. He apologized for not having a full order and brought it out on the house just so we could try it... Now that's what I call good service and front and back of house communicating on the issue.
Is this a fine dining establishment ...NO...
But if you want a cold beer, good meal and to feel like you are actually being waited on and cared for? Then Stop at Chopos bar and have a good time!

I didn't vibe with one of the staff members she came off a little curt giving me what I perceived, rude looks, other than this everything was good and service was good, food was yummy and there was live music. They serve a really good Moscow mule which isn't always the case.

My wife and I came down from Suttons Bay for a quick getaway and stopped in for a bite and some drinks. The bartender was super friendly and we felt like we were back home in our little hometown bar. The food was great. Drinks were perfect. We met the owner and he is a great guy. Definitely recommend if a small local bar is your thing.
