I was at the casino in June for the rug hooking school, to which the rug school paid for my room Sunday - Thursday. I opted to stay an additional night at my expense. When I checked out Saturday morning, I gave my card to the front desk and got a bill back for the entire week. When the clerk tried to credit me back it would not allow her to do so. She assured me that she would make sure it was corrected. That seemed reasonable, she then proceeded to charge me for the one night and I went on my way. When I check my account a week later, I had still not been refunded. I contacted the conference leader and she went personally to the resort, gave them her cc and was charged $805.09 for 6 nights. I was told it would take about a week to correct. Waited and waited and waited, no credit has been made, I have called 6 times explained the situation and assured that someone would call me right back. To date no one has returned my calls, not Autumn, not her supervisors. No one. The casino has not only over charged me, but they overcharged the converence leader as well. I am now disputing all the charges with my cc.
Pros:Nice property with lovely courtyard area. Reasonably priced Cons: Stayed in building on first floor in no smoking room. Second floor is smoking. Stale smoking smell still left a lingering odor in non-smoking room. Pillow are the absolute worst. Huge lumps of feathers that felt like you were sleeping on a sack of small dead birds. Hotel needs to throw them all out and replace them.
Prices were high, as expected, no issue with it when the food is worth it. I ordered a two meat platter, with a $3 upcharge for brisket. Brisket should be the star, the best part of the plate without a doubt, its an upcharge item. I was expecting a 1/4 lb cut of brisket with sauce. What i got was a lump of shredded beef that had no flavor besides the taste of the sauce that it was drenched in. Completely ruined the 28.95 cost. The chicken was good, the slaw was standard, the seasoned corn was bland and not good. The chicken being good was not enough for me to be happy with this meal. Hopefully they can fix these issues cause it could be really good food. I know they are getting good ingredients.
The emphasis at this casino resort is on the resort! Beautiful waterfall with natural flowers and relaxing place to read or just relax! Great outdoor courtyard with beautiful flowers and pathways, chairs around fire pit for cool evenings and a great gazebo for entertainment! Also, 3 pools, hot tubs , sauna and Nectar Spa! Love coming to this place every year! Never disappointed!
The price was right for a Wednesday and Thursday. Limited dining options. Casino slots are tight. The rooms need updating. We were in room 2122 and we could not get cell service and limited wifi. For the price we paid we had fun. We ate in Manistee. The pools are nice and the courtyard is beautiful. We’ll be back.
We booked a room using the "Playful Getaway" package which is advertised as including $50 in free play, a $50 dining credit, and a $50 gas card. After checking in, we discovered that there was no restaurant open at the casino, only a food court and a coffee shop and that the advertised gas card is actually a $50 Little River Casino Gift Card which can only be used in the shops in the casino or the mini-mart and gas station they own across the street. Without a restaurant open, there was no way to spend $50 having dinner at the casino and we had no idea that we needed to arrive with enough room in our car's gas tank to buy $50 worth of gas on the spot. Both of these "promotions" are of very limited value. Almost everyone would understand a "gas card" to mean a card that can be used at gas stations in multiple locations, not a casino branded gift card that has to be used on the premises. Unfortunately, we had filled up before we arrived and live hours from this location.
It would be nice if they would spray along the trees in the RV park the mosquitos are really bad later in the summer. Right now not to bad . Just sayin. Thank you ok you need a least 200 characters so I’ll say your wi-go is not very good in the RV park
Travelled alongside family to see concert. Beautiful place with such serene decor! Concert hall was just okay. Seats were glued together (not so good with a much taller person seated next to you) Venue was hot and sticky. Staff were helpful, unfortunately security hurried us out like cattle. Wanted to take pics from inside the venue but staff said no.
I was fortunate to be invited along with others from my company to attend the Manistee Chamber Gala event for the first time in 2 years because of the pandemic. It was beautiful, well maintained and excellent service. The food served for the event was very good, and the bar service slow but effective . Not sure about the casino, but one of my co-workers comes frequently and loves it. they also spend many a night in the hotel, and say it is very nice.
Barf. Just as limp, tasteless, and overpriced as the one in Grand Rapids. Oh wait…that location folded in record time. Looks like they only have the one in Traverse City left. Good thing they have an endless supply of stupid tourists who know nothing about what qualifies as good BBQ. Because this place certainly does not.

Some of the best BBQ food we’ve ever had. You can’t go wrong with the Pitmaster Mac and Cheese or the Mac Daddy Smashed Potato. Mike and Lisa were also super friendly, helpful, and efficient. Thank you for a great experience!
We have been coming to Little River since they have been open in 1999 i believe. We have always been treated wonderful and still love seeing some of the same faces that were there when they opened. We have been to most every casino in Michigan and Still this remains to be are favorite place. Thank You Staff and Employees at Are Favorite Little River.
I want to give a big shout out to the guys that park cars and help you.. My husband is handicapped and I have to bring lots of stuff in when we stay...they were awesome. Thank you to the staff ..please tip them well
Great food and portion size! The BBQ sundae was excellent, nothing generic here, you could tell everything was homemade. So much better than that nasty buffet that used to be there. Will be eating here every time we return to Little River!
We have eaten at Sparks in Traverse city, and have never been disappointed. I usually have the brisket plate with the corn salad and cornbread as pictured in my photos. The brisket at Sparks Manistee is the most tender barbecue I have had in many many years. It’s fork tender, and that includes the plastic fork that we're using as echoes from covid restrictions are still affecting the restaurant business. It’s true that the food may cost more than what casino Customers are used to (though I’ve been charged $50 at a casino for two sandwiches two pieces of cake and two sides), but the last I’ve known--as has been mentioned on national TV where the Traverse city restaurant was featured--all their food is smoked and created in house. I can’t speak to the macaroni and cheese, but as far as the baked beans, cornbread, and corn salad is concerned, it is worth every bit that is charged for it In my opinion.I am not aware if the wait staff or counter service staff are Sparks employees or casino, but our food was ready in a timely fashion and without any issues at all.As the restaurant is within the casino itself, there is no issue with parking or handicapped access. Amenities are close by as per usual in a casino. The ambience is modern casino hustle, but made more pleasant once the casino banned smoking in the building.Whether in Traverse City, or Manistee, we always make time to add a little Sparks to our week.
