The quality is horrible food was horrible and the customer service was bad and most of the food wasn't even cooked correctly at all and the waitress and the other workers were not even trained to restaurant standards and there were random stuff that wasn't even supposed to be in the food. Over all horrible places to go I recommend going somewhere else instead of here and the toast my grandma got wasn't even toasted and her sausage wasn't even the right size or cooked to standard and my mom's chicken quesadilla wasn't even cooked fully and the green peppers were as hard as a rock. They were not even busy to have this many problems only me and my family was there and that's a total of four of us.

It's a big boy. It looks like it hasn't changed since the 1980s. The service was great. The food was ok.

Had never been to a Big Boy restaurant, gave it a try. This picture is the pot roast dinner. It was $16+ and was not good at all. This is the first thing at a restaurant that I've sent back in many years. The waitress was nice but when I sent this back she said I could have the buffet for no charge instead. When I went to pay for what I ate they charged me for this pot roast thing anyway... Be warned this seems to be a nostalgic thing for people that remember them. As a new comer, it was high priced poor quality food.

great staff, friendly environment and the food was excellent!
We traveled to stay the weekend here in Manistique. Stopped here for breakfast because there was a Buffett. It was ok. Not many options for the price. It was nice they did offer toast or different kinds of eggs besides the scrambled on the buffet bar. The waitress was stop notch. Very attentive on everything and made sure we had everything we needed. One of the best I have ever had while dining out.

Great new owners are keeping the Big Boy tradition alive. Fantastic, attentive staff, classic comforting food and nostalgic decor. Specials change often and the salad bar and soups are great for a quick lunch. We are here often when in town!

Food was what you would expect, not over the top but middle of the road.

I love finding a good Big Boy, and I was excited to try this one when I was in town. To their credit, the server was very attentive, and my patty melt and fries tasted great, but there were a handful of little things that I found off putting.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a sign saying the business was "American Owned." Usually, when I see a sign like this, it's because there's a competing business nearby that's owned by immigrants. I hope that's not the reason the sign is present in this restaurant, but if it is, it strikes me as more xenophobic than patriotic.
Secondly, the salad bar/buffet is much smaller than other Big Boy locations, and the options are much more limited. Adding to the issue are odd and unappetizing offerings on the salad bar. During my visit there was a dish stacked high with pallid looking chicken legs and wings in the cold section as well as a pile of brownish/gray whole peppers complete with stems. I didn't see a single diner help themselves to the chicken or peppers, and I overheard one woman say the chicken looked "scary." She wasn't wrong.
Finally, when I asked my server for a second refill of my remarkably small glass of Diet Pepsi, she informed me that she'd be happy to give me a refill, but the $2.99 I'd paid for a drink only included one refill. A second would cost me another $2.99. I've not seen this done at any other Big Boy location, and given the small size of the glasses, it felt like a ripoff and a shameless cash grab by the management.
The next time I'm in Manistique, I'll probably skip Big Boy at dinnertime and opt for a pasty and a salad from the grocery store instead.
