I've been a supporter here since day 1, but alot has gone down hill unfortunately.
Priced have gone up of course, but flavor has gone down. The standard 231 now called Vietnamese coffee tastes like water. Maybe the shots aren't being pulled correctly? Not sure.
I also ordered a flavored verrine that was supposed to have 3 different flavors. It literally tasted like nothing.
To make sure it wasn't just me I went down to babycakes, and assured it's not my taste buds.
I can't justify continuing to buy "coffee" here when every single time I take a few sips, wish it were something else, and throw it away. It's a shame. The Original drinks and items represented in year 1 were truly the best. Typical profit > quality.
Customer service is always hit or miss. Always new employees.

I was unable to get a decaf chai tea latte, but was offered a bouquet drink instead. The chorizo breakfast burrito was really good. Had to pay to park.

the food is great They truly take care of the details on the food. Croissants are outstanding!! Eat one and take one home for later. Coffee was inconsistent but good. Cold brew was very good. The atmosphere is very good. The have a welcoming space to enjoy your meal or treat.

Went here for a Saturday afternoon coffee and lunch. Caesar wrap was really tasty and I thought the price point was reasonable.

Tasty pain au chocolat, nice location. It's good to see a long time eyesore turned into something nice downtown.

The food is delicious and amazing but I am completely disappointed in the customer service. My family and I are in town once a year and had a gift card we’ve been planning on using but I was told they couldn’t accept gift cards at this time because they recently changed their POS system. The employees were nice enough but they didn’t offer any alternative. Management should have had a plan for this so that customers with gift cards can actually use them. We can’t be the only people who have a gift card and we really don’t want to wait another year to use it. After this, my husband and I don’t plan on returning, gift card or not. By the way, management should probably keep an eye on the reviews on Facebook. Several recent reviews are spam.

The desserts were good, very appealing and tasty. The service, was poor. 4 employees. No eye contact, no greetings, no thank you’s. When the cashier boxed up our treats, she told us the amount and walked away. I used my card and wanted the printed receipt, I asked another employee to get it for me. My daughter asked why we didn’t get coffee drinks from here, I said we’d get them at the next place. I’m glad we did. I also regret tipping. We will not be back.

The Macarons were the best I've ever had. Incredible flavors, ultra smooth and creamy filling with bright and complex flavors. These are so good I stopped in twice during my visit. I made a special trip to Marquette just to get more. Very good!

A must stop-in when visiting Marquette. Macarons are the best in Michigan (not just the UP). Amazing GF chocolate chip cookies.

Waiting for a lower peninsula location…

Dietary restrictions: Delicious and numerous gluten free options (not just the macarons).

Pretty sure the salted chocolate chip cookie I got was the best I’ve ever had, but the staff was rude and unwelcoming. I’m sure they are busy and have off days just like anybody else. I hope to give them another try only because of how delicious their cookies were.

Stopped here for lunch on a whim and so glad I did. The ham and cheese croissant was perfectly flaky and delicious. The chorizo burrito was also scrumptious. We also had the granola parfait which was perfectly balanced sweet, crunchy, and creamy goodness.

231 west catered the desserts to our wedding and knocked it out of the park! Everyone asked where the desserts were from and made sure to bring some home with them. Could not have asked for a better experience there. Matt and Sydney went above and beyond accommodating us figuring things out and delivering the cakes. Also a great place to stop in for a delicious breakfast burrito!
