I’m a Titanium Elite Marriott Bonvoy member. But I always INSIST on staying here on business trips. Staff and service are excellent. Rooms & beds are clean (if not cleaner) than brand new built properties, and this hotel is nearly 100 years old. The rooftop bar has spectacular drinks. The best spot to stay in Marquette. Second to none.

Staying in the penthouse suite at the Landmark Inn was, without a doubt, the most remarkable hotel experience I’ve ever had. The suite is like stepping back in time with a touch of modern luxury—a unique blend of elegance and history. Huge windows offer stunning city views, and the antique lighting fixtures and chandeliers add an enchanting, nostalgic atmosphere. The suite is expansive, with a cozy living room complete with a fireplace, a dining area that could easily seat 8, a fully-equipped kitchen, two beautiful bedrooms, and two spacious bathrooms, one of which has a steam shower! Honestly, I can't imagine finding another suite of this quality anywhere for less than $400.
The whole hotel is brimming with charm and refined details. There's a baby grand piano, beautiful marble staircases, and even whimsical tortoise and hare wallpaper (possibly a reproduction, but oh so charming). Every corner is thoughtfully designed, and you can tell that a lot of care has gone into preserving the hotel's character while keeping it comfortable and up-to-date. The restaurants and lounges are just as sophisticated, matching the regal and grand feel of the entire space.
The customer service was top-notch; the front desk staff was efficient and welcoming, and it was clear that the employees genuinely took pride in working at the Landmark in these beautifully maintained surroundings.
Staying here felt like being in a dream—it was grand, elegant, and unforgettable. Highly recommend the Landmark Inn for anyone seeking a one-of-a-kind experience in Marquette.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Landmark given its age. It has nice, basic rooms and some great views of Lake Superior. It sits on top of a hill and is an easy walk away from restaurants and shops in Marquette. It is roughly 1.2 miles from the UNM campus and on a nice day it's enjoyable to walk from the hotel down Third Street to window shop or stop for a drink or bite to eat. The pub inside the hotel has good food and drinks. There is a happy hour where you can get a PBR for $2. The pub had several TV'S and is a good place to watch sports. There is also a bar on the 6th floor that has even better views of the lake and shoreline. I stayed there 3 nights and would chose the Landmark again on a return trip to Marquette.
Rooms: The rooms have a coffee maker, microwave and fridge. Furnishings are very simple but functional. Beds are comfortable with large, full pillows. Heating and cooling are easily adjusted.

Didn’t go well. Called and spoke to reservations and reserved a corner lake view suite room. Upon arrival were given room 604, which is a normal king room, not what we reserved. The 6th floor is also where the Crow’s Nest bar is. They had live music Friday night in the bar and they might as well have been playing in our room! So loud. Sleep wasn’t possible until when they finished around 11:30pm. We had two nights booked, and I called the front desk to ask if there was music Saturday too. At first the reservation agent said she “didn’t believe” there was a band because the bar was reserved for a private party. I pressed a bit and she ultimately said there would be drinks and dancing, but no band. I asked if she thought a DJ might be there and she agreed that it sounded like that was the case. So, we cancelled our second night and went to the Hampton Inn. The Landmark knows full well that those 6th floor rooms are loud. I’m sure they get frequent complaints like ours. But they don’t offer those rooms at a discount, or give a warning, or offer anything to make up for the bad experience. We asked to speak with the General Manager upon checkout. Were told that they would call us. That was Saturday AM. I’m writing this Tuesday AM and no call. The Hampton Inn was great!

My wife and I, recently stated for one night. (thursday checking out Friday. Price was $282. For the price not a great vaule. Room issues, refridgerator (1cu ft) when opening the fridge door water ran out. It had defrosted and puddeled inside. The fridge was not level (missing a leg and not very cold) Moving on to the bathroom, the shower had black hair around the drain and the grout on the shower base was all mold as if it had not been cleaned in a very long time. One interesting fact on the bathroom light was two of the light switches were on the outside of the bathroom. After attempting to clean the shower, there was no hot water. Our room had drywall patches around the windows. For an expensive hotel, I expect better details. My wife talked to the front desk and was given excuses that the nioght before the hot water heater was having problems and that the chemicals used to clean the shower was a build up not mold. Either way zero compensation for dirty cold showers and a fridge that kept our stuff food warmer that the shower. The hotels potenial to be great. The Hampton Inn is way better, clean and offer more ammenities.

The public spaces at the Landmark have that lovely patina of history -dark wood and detailed character. The rooms have been redone into modern function. Clean and comfortable, but less character.

From three years ago, a completely different hotel. Sticklike ikea furniture replaced, normal hours restored. Comfortable beds. Great home base.

Did not stay at hotel just visited the bar. They have two 1 on the 1 st floor and 1 on the 6th floor. It was packed but the view from the 6th floor was worth it. Absolutely amazing!

Having lived in the area for a while and having been at the Landmark for drinks and food in the past, this was my first time staying in the hotel on vacation. We checked in and got a great room with views of the lake and ore dock. Clean and newly updated. We unfortunately were next to some loud football fans in the next room. Nancy at the desk was extremely helpful and accommodating when we requested a room change since we were only here 1 night. She was understanding and moved us to another quiet room with another great view of downtown, although it wasn’t if the lake. Thank you, Nancy for making sure we had a great stay!

The room was recently redone and pleasant. Beautiful old fashioned wallpaper with a nice large room and updated bathroom.
Service was fantastic and no issues, though no issues arised to be taken care of. Check in and out was easy and effortless.
Location location and this is the selling point. Because the hotel is perched up on a high hill you can virtually see your hotel from anywhere within the city. My camera's phone could zoom into the hotel from high bluffs far outside the city. So it's always easy to get back to where you need to be. You're also within walking distance of many restaurants and bars. It was quite nice popping some edibles and hitting a few bars before dinner.
Highly recommend going to the Louisiana cuisine restaurant within walking distance of the hotel.
ONLY CONS: there's a beautiful crow's nest bar at the top level with a fantastic view. Drinks were pretty mediocre up there but you are paying for the view.
Loved the city and will definitely be back.

Cute boutique hotel, great prices, staff was amazing, has a bar and room overseeing the lake on 6th floor. Great place close to shopping and restaurants. Walking distance downtown.

I have stayed at the Landmark twice. Once back in 2012, which was lovely. When I most recently visited in July 2024 I was disappointed in the lack of towel service or cleaning. They seemed understaffed. The ice machine was broken on our floor so we had to fill our water bottles in the lobby but they were always out of ice water. They didn't have fitted sheets for some reason so the bedding would become a tangled mess every night, and they didn't have housekeeping service. No one collected room service plates unless we left them in the hallway and they were still left there for an extra day. We stayed at the hotel for a week so it just wasn't super pleasant to have trash (only 1 tiny trash can in the suite?) and dirty towels accumulate that long. I just expected a bit more based on my previous experience and the price. I think we would have been more comfortable at a chain hotel, and that's a bummer because I used to love this place. Location is wonderful though, hard to beat that.

My husband & I had our wedding here in July 2024. We had THE BEST TIME. The staff was so helpful and attentive. The event planning staff and day of coordination made our day (and days leading up to the event) stress free and so easy. They take time be sure everything is what it should be. The biggest thing for us was our list of food allergies- which they made sure nothing was contaminated so all of our guests could enjoy. We had the best time and would recommend this location, specifically the Harbor Room, at the Hotel for any large event!

Beautifully restored to a luxury hotel. Great views of Lake Superior! Good food! Easy to walk to other places downtown Marquette.

Nice location with a great view of Lake Superior. The hotel is quaint and mostly comfortable but lacks the attention to detail of a top tier experience. We were there Monday thru Thursday which coincided with the days breakfast was unavailable. There are only two ice machines in the building and both were out of order for our entire stay. Rooms are only cleaned and serviced upon request so you’ll have to manage your own garbage and ask if you want clean towels, etc. All in all a decent stay but a bit pricey in-season for the limited service level.
