We got the green curry- was not good. It tasted like nothing and was yellow. The pepper steak was drowning it sauce- it was odd. The cheese wontons were good though. We have been here many times and sadly don't plan on coming back after this.

I made a one day visit to Marquette yesterday via Indian Trails Bus and Rice Paddy was on my list of places to visit. The long walk was well worth it because the moment I entered Rice Paddy I knew that I was in one of the best Thai restaurants in America. Exceptional service from owners Dean and Nang. Dean was so friendly and kind, he made me feel so welcome on my first visit. He recommended the curry buttercup squash dish which was incredibly amazing. So unique. Also got a half order of the popular pad Thai. It's so cozy and lovely inside Rice Paddy but there is no dining indoors. However, there is a small wooden table out front and that's where I enjoyed part of my meal. I love Rice Paddy. Outstanding service, generous portions of delicious food, and so authentic. They even include yummy cheese filled wontons with your entree. Nang is an outstanding chef, she is so talented. Rice Paddy in my opinion is one of the best Thai restaurants. There's a lot of devoted local customers who know Rice Paddy is an awesome place to eat and I saw them coming in and out to pick up their orders while waiting for my order During these times of high inflation it's wonderful to enjoy super tasty food at an affordable price. I thank Dean and Nang for running a superior Thai carry-out restaurant.

Food was Amazing! Tried the Pad thai - out of this world!
I had the pad thai and it was very sweet and lacking in any spice. I also though it was strange the pad thai noodles also came with rice. Everything was cooked fine just not what I expect when ordering pad thai, I would expect a small amount of sweetness and more salty and umami.
Also note CASH ONLY and Carry out ONLY, made that mistake and had to eat the $4 ATM fee inside.
Too much sugar. Rice Paddy is good and we get it about once a month. My husband’s and my dish was too sweet - needs more authentic Thai flavors.
Compliments to the chef!
I personally love the Rice Paddy! It is my favorite restaurant in Marquette for takeout. I always get the chicken pad Thai with extra cream cheese wontons 😁
If I could give a zero I would! The food was awful. The fried rice was just steamed rice with a dribble of soy sauce added. The chicken was boiled, no seasoning added what so ever. I will say that the won tons were pretty good. So disappointing.....
Food is simply not good. It should be illegal to call this Thai food. I lived in Seattle for 17 years, so sure, you could say I was spoiled. But of all the places I have lived, this is by FAR the worst I have ever had. Noodles taste stale, sauce (what little there is) lacks any real flavor, and why the heck do they give you plain white rice when you order a noodle dish???

I worked at a Thai Restaurant through highschool so I have to try a new Pad Thai everytime I see one. Theirs is great!
Food was absolutely horrible. Me and my girlfriend were absolutely shocked by the food we have been served. In comparison with Thau House this place needs to work on the presentation of their food and the overall quality!

This is one of those places where searching reviews is important. I wholeheartedly don't understand why this restaurant is rated so high based on its food. But you don't come here for the food. You're here for the theatrics.
When we arrived, the guy who runs the place kept boasting how flavorful and delicious the food was. And just wouldn't stop. He kept going on about how no one has tasted food like this before (I believed that part, but not for the same reason). The more he talked, the less I believed him. So we ordered pad Thai and orange chicken (their most popular dishes). He asked if we wanted the orange chicken deep fried or stir fried. We ordered stir fried. I'll tell you right now that food came straight out of the microwave. I'm positive they had precooked chicken with orange marmalade on it. And the pad Thai was the driest, most unauthentic meal I've ever had.
Now I don't have a fancy food palette. I grew up on Mac n cheese and chicken nuggets. But this food was ass. I also wasn't really expecting anything extraordinary from Marquette, but this man hyped it up so much that you'd think it was. Which is kinda what made it special. The entire time we were looking at this food, we were laughing our asses off thinking of the amount of hype that was put onto this miserable meal. We talked and laughed about it the entire time we were visiting the UP. When I come back to visit, you better believe I'm going to hit up Rice Paddy again.

It is take out only but the worst Thai food I ever had. My Pad Thai tasted like Ramen noodles, it was ok but way too oily. And how they added the hot spice was awful, just dumped on top.
