More then toast!! đ Best breakfast sandwich Iâve ever had and freshly roasted coffee beans. Very hip and friendly staff!
I had an hour to kill before a business meeting so I grabbed a coffee and settled in. It was great and quiet yet kind of lively at the same time. Highly recommend
Cute place, good breakfast and good coffee!
Believe it or not, what I like the most about this place is their coffee. Their lattes are among the best I've had. The food is also excellent except it would be nice if they had better options for eggs other than a pre-cooked patty.
Nice little place with delicious food and drinks. Cool vibe and nice staff.
Nice little cafĂŠ in the Heart of Downtown Marquette. Food was good, service was good. Atmosphere was very nice. Had a short meeting over coffee and breakfast... by the time we were getting ready to leave there was a crowd. Not a secret spot but if you can find a seat at the right time, it's a nice place to rest between all of your shopping or for a meeting space.
The place:
Trenary Toast Cafe is a long place with bar style seats lining the windows that look out onto the sidewalk and a bench seat along the outer wall thatâs one half of the table seating. Order at the counter where the menu is clear and pretty extensive! Thereâs also a shop near the back so you can stock up on merch or Trenary Toast to bring home.
The location:
The cafe is on the corner in what I always consider âdowntown Marquette.â Itâs kitty corner from where the farmers market is held over the summer. Most of the street parking is easily accessible but timed or paid parking.
The food/drink:
The winter seasonal drinks included a vanilla peppermint matcha that I got iced with oat milk, and it confirmed my suspicion that I love my matcha iced. A light drink that was beautiful as well as delicious. Vanilla and peppermint are an intuitive pairing for matcha.
The menu looks like it has generous vegan and vegetarian options (refreshing from a place that serves lighter fare like sandwiches!). I got the blackberry and Brie smørrbrød which was a beautiful mix of sweet and savory. My partner got the lovely lox which was indeed lovely.
The service:
Delightful. We ordered at the counter and the human who rung us up was efficient and kind.
We werenât sure if there was a bus tray so we ran away before anyone could see us leave our dishes on the table.
Next time:
Iâm going to get a proper sandwich. There were a couple vegetarian sandwiches Iâll have a hard time picking between.
Vegetarian options: Sandwiches and toast options that are vegetarian or vegan. Gluten free options too!

Its alright. Fantastic location. Good ambiance. Food was just average. It was something I could've made myself at home. The biggest letdown was the squeeky cheese plate. They heat and partially melt the cheese which no longer makes it squeeky. They squandered the one unique thing they had on the menu. Everything else was just some toast with jam or chopped up ingredients. The cloudberry jam was pretty good.
They can do better.

The drinks are wonderful; save your money when it comes to ordering food. The sandwich was mostly stale bread, with a piece or two of meat. Disappointing and pricey.
Nice little cafe! Food was great! They have breakfast and lunch.

Employees need to get off their phones and make sure people are being served. Missed our order and had to remind them after seeing other people getting their food who came in after us. Embarrassing service, high prices, very average food. Wouldnât recommend.
Super cute place with some unique bites to eat! Trenary toast is a must but I also loved the squeaky cheese plate!

Good for a snack. We had coffee and cinnamon rolls. Unfortunately the soy milk was sweetened, but otherwise everything tasted ok. Local has little charm.

Friendly service and delicious lox toast. Cardamom Honey Latte was the highlight of our visit.
