Aster is the best place to eat in Midland. You can always count on a great dinner and great service. Our entire family loves Aster. We always go for the oysters and the awesome entree's.

I don't write reviews but this was bad. My ribeye came cut fully open in half (as if the chef checked the temperature like at home), it was overcooked, no flavor, juices obviously running out, came with some fried baby potatoes, not patatas bravas like advertised, and was a bad cut of meat. And it was $40 which was absurd. We were so excited to try this “French fine dining” and my partner described his plate as a glorified rotisserie chicken instead of a coq au vin. The dining lighting was terrible, seat placement was strange, and it was just a very unenjoyable experience given how much they charge. We won't be returning. Also, we did not order the burger but many around us did and the buns looked like they were freshly smushed from a Kroger grocery bag. I feel terrible leaving a review like this but it was truly a bad experience.

The hostess was super helpful in getting our reservation changed from 630 to 700 to accommodate a meeting that went long (7 of us). It was super warm and humid in the restaurant, which made us all a bit uncomfortable. There weren't enough menus, so we shared, no big deal. The sound level was really, really loud- I couldn't really hear my tablemates, so there was a lot of talking just to the person next to me. Two of the beers on the list of 6 were out, so that was a bummer. The wait staff was very pleasant and quick to help us. It did seem to take a while to get our food, but it was a busy night and we had a big group. Not everyone loved their food, which is why my rating was lower. I'm not convinced any of us will be back.

I had high hopes on this place, the brunch menu didn’t have the duck confit which was what I was going there for, I have dietary restrictions so I have to plan ahead what I’m eating at a place before heading there. I ordered the lox bagel and they didn’t have it, waitress took forever to come take our order, place wasn’t busy, small menu for the long time they gave us to decide but they didn’t have what I wanted, so disappointed.

Beautiful place downtown midland and the food speaks for itself. My whole family visits this restaurant whether it’s for lobster sandwiches or simply a quick drink while being out and about. You should be proud of what you have.Thank you!

We had the burger/fries special, hush puppies and chicken wings appetizers. The food was fantastic, our server was attentive and always there for a drink refill or whatever we needed. Would definitely recommend.

My new favorite Midland restaurant. It is exceedingly rare to get such a healthy meal out. Nothing fried, not laden in cheese , a proper portion for my wasteline, and it included a complex whole carb . I ate at 5:30. The lighting was too dark .Dietary restrictions: Appears to be Gf , df

I had the best brunch I have ever had. We tried the French toast, which was by far the best French toast I've ever tasted with real maple syrup. We also got the kale Caesar salad with fried chicken, which is always good. We also got the breakfast with potatoes, over easy eggs, bacon, toast and jam. The potatoes are cooked some way I can not figure out to taste the best ive ever had a potato taste. The eggs were over cooked so I politely requested another round and they were the perfect over easy egg with flaky salt and some green stuff sprinkled on them. My only request is can I get oysters for breakfast? ? not even kidding.. we will be back for brunch again.

The food was absolutely amazing! Full of flavors and great textures. Ramen Wednesdays are a must! They change the ramen flavors from time to time, so its not always the same. The menu changes with the seasons and, where possible, ingredients are local. Great atmosphere and wonderful service!Delicious! Definitely recommend! Thank you for the great service!!Parking: Parking in the street varies depending on the day of the week and what events are happening in the area. There are some parking lots available in a very short walking distance.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant entrance is mostly wheelchair friendly, just no automatic doors. Bathrooms appear relatively wheelchair friendly as well.

We enjoyed our date night at Aster the food was fantastic but portion are smaller think European portions. The drinks were great and I agree with the reviews that their bartender can mix some wonderful new creations. We will be back for sure and next time in Wednesday so we can try in Ramen that everyone raves about. All in all it capped off a great date night .

I have been going to Aster for many years now and have loved most of their food. They are the best local restaurant here in Midland. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed by their ribeye the last two times and won't be ordering it again. It seems to just get smaller and smaller and this last time, it was like a tiny piece was cut off of the ribeye. The potatoes on my plate were larger than the piece of steak. I was also told that they can no longer cook my steak rare because of the cut. When I received the steak, I understood why they said that, because it was so small. I miss the very large ribeyes they used to sell, crusted/charred to perfection and rare. I will still be a patron for other dishes, but I can't pay $40 for a tiny piece of meat. :(

We had the mussels in a coconut curry and smoked lobster butter sauce with focaccia bread to dip in the sauce, and also the smoked whitefish hushpuppies for starters, and both were fantastic. Then had the beet salad and Pajun. Everything was delicious. Will be back soon to try more.
