"Spike is SPICY! Some people like the heat. Maybe it brings back fond memories of a warm summer day? Maybe they are just the type who enjoy a little bit of pain? Either way we have a nacho just for these individuals. Corn tortilla chips, shredded romaine and pepper jack queso are pretty standard and nothing to worry about. But then we turn it up a bit with ancho chile chicken, cayenne aioli, avocado salsa, pickled jalapenos, our house blend of pepper seasoning, black beans, queso fresco and pickled red onions. ""Sophia"" meat is a great substitution for those who refrain from animal proteins, or just want to try something snappy."

Came from out of town for a show at Midland center for the arts and randomly choose a spot to grab lunch first and we couldn't have choose a better spot! Right away felt welcome and comfortable. The food was phenomenal and we received a lot of helpful recommendations from the staff. We are now including them in our dinner date restaurants.

I’ve had Proper Taco more than a few times now—in their Midland restaurant, catered twice, and from their food truck at an event. The food is fantastic! I loved checking out the restaurant’s merch as well— it’s a unique place that always delivers good service and delicious food.

Enjoyed this unusual taco place with lots of gluten free and vegetarian options. Cute decor, lefty hippy vibe, yummy and some unusual tacos. Would definitely go back again. Fun merch too. Picked up a nice mug to add to my collection.
