Stopped in with a group of friends on a Friday night and as soon as we walked in the bartenders were giving dirty looks and were very unfriendly when we ordered drinks. Very sad experience when you bring your out of town guests to your home town bar.. the owner Tony was almost as rude as the bartenders.

i have been a loyal customer of fender’s for a while. not for any particular reason, it’s just been my spot. to be honest, i put up with bad service for a while. today was the same old as always, but i suddenly am so over it and don’t plan on coming back. i got seated and waited to be greeted, per usual. a couple other groups came in after me. not sure what the deal was, but they were delivered appetizers before i was greeted. to top it all off, the owner was just sitting around watching his staff not serve me. i always tip them well, despite the fact that this is a pattern of behavior. i also just find it off putting the way the staff dresses. like i wouldn’t bring my family in because of how revealing their outfits are. so i just don’t plan on coming back.

I was pleasantly surprised having dined here 3 times now. Fenders to me in the quintessential locals dive bar but with better food than your typical bar. Additionally they serve food up to one hour before closing which means you can get food as late as 1 am for a late night snack.
To start with the wings are THE best wings I have found in the Ann Arbor region. The seasoning and cook on the wings are great and these are the only wings I have ever had that I prefer to eat without sauce! In reality they are great small pieces of fried chicken without a thick breading.
The servers were all very helpful and provided great service.
I do wish the tables were cleaned better. I found them sticky and not cleaned as well as they could be and some of the furniture could use replacement or maintenance.
I will be back to try more of their food and I enjoy a good local bar.

This is a high quality establishment. Wings are very good and you are able to play pool and board games at the bar. They have operation and my wife loved playing it.
They also have touchtunes and a patio out back. Very clean bathrooms too! Will definitely be back.

Excellent wings! First time stopping in, but it won't be the last. Really enjoyed the dry rub on these hardy wings. I'm happy to finally find an establishment with outstanding food! The staff was awesome!
