These are the nicest people you’d ever hope to meet. The B&B is on the Chippewa (River) and Island Park with Pickleball! We love Pickleball and got to play with some pretty good players. Farmers Marker is on Thursday and we missed it, but 2 blocks away we had a blast downtown. We give a thumbs up.

We were in town for our anniversary and had such a great stay. Amazing location in walking distance to all of our stops for the night! We had some issues with the fan in our room and they were quick to come try and fix the issue. They ended up moving us to the room across the hall. We appreciated the quick response and kindness of all the staff we met during our stay.

Stayed one night for a weekend in town and had the loveliest time at the Ginkgo Tree! The room was gorgeous with a beautiful quaint deck set for two to enjoy the summer breeze and sunshine. It was easy to access the property after dark, and the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. We also enjoyed a beautiful breakfast and our dietary restrictions were accommodated without any issues (vegan and halal). The experience was wonderful and for anyone looking for a quaint, quiet, romantic getaway this is certainly the place to go in Mt Pleasant!

Wonderfully historic venue for a wedding celebration. The owners are hands on and very friendly. Was there serving as an officiant for a wedding and after having been there would love to come back as a guest. Truly a gem!

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Mount Pleasant!!

Our stay at the Ginkgo Tree Inn was nothing short of magical. This charming boutique bed and breakfast is tucked inside a beautifully preserved historic home built in 1901, and every corner radiates warmth, character, and care. The location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk to downtown shops, restaurants, and local spots, yet it feels like a peaceful retreat all its own.

The owners are truly what make this place shine. From the moment we arrived, we felt like long-lost friends reunited—they are gracious, welcoming, and full of great local recommendations. The accommodations are comfortable, cozy, and thoughtfully appointed, and the front porch? Absolutely to die for. It’s the kind of spot you want to linger on all morning with a cup of coffee or wind down in the evening with a good book.

An added bonus is its location near the river, which adds to the serene atmosphere. We heard they have plans to incorporate the riverfront more into the property, and we can’t wait to come back and experience that!

If you’re looking for a stay that combines small-town charm, historic elegance, and genuine hospitality, the Ginkgo Tree Inn is it.

WOW! What a wonderful stay. Hosts David and Nick were polite, attentive, and just made my sister and I feel so welcome and at home. We are both so glad we stayed at this gem, and we highly suggest getting the breakfast package. Thank you for making our weekend, we will be back. :)

Great place to stay. The people were so nice. The room was spacious and clean. There are fun little metal sculptures hanging around the wall of the lobby and restaurant. Breakfast was great.

We had an amazing stay at The Ginkgo Tree! It was the perfect blend of convenience and relaxation. Located just minutes from the casino where we attended an event, it was also close to fantastic restaurants, making it easy to enjoy a great meal without traveling far. The hotel itself was wonderfully quiet and peaceful—a perfect retreat after a night out. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the hospitality was top-notch. David and Layla were very welcoming and friendly.

The Ginkgo Tree Historic Boutique Hotel was the perfect getaway for my Husband and I for our 20th wedding anniversary.

First and most important was David—owner/host. He made us feel so welcome and was incredibly attentive to all the small details from reservation through checkout.. we were running late for check-in and when I called he couldn’t have been more gracious about it—concerned more for our safety than his time. He provided us with a paired wine for our beautiful and delicious charcuterie board when I admitted I didn’t know anything about wines.

David was a great conversationalist and gave us a lot of insightful information and inspiration about the history of the home and for our own projects. Overall just a very warm welcome—and a great chef for the morning breakfast too. From table setting to our rich coffee; the quiche and bacon and fresh fruit were delicious … truly it was all the best experience.

I really wanted to find somewhere special and as we own a Victorian home in a small town—this beautiful boutique was the inspiration my Husband and I needed before we begin our own historic renovations on our home.

Our room was the best blend of gorgeous, functional, cozy and intimate.

The boutique is wonderfully preserved and updated with just the right balance of modern necessity met with timeless character and elegance. It’s the perfect location for a private event with a convenient location that feels intimate— I can’t wait to come back.

I was really looking forward to staying here. While the innkeeper was very accommodating and kind the overall experience was a disappointment. Our room was not what I would expect from a B&B in this price range. The layout was awkward; absolutely no place to put personal items in both the room and bathroom. The room arrangement was uncomfortable and did not allow for enjoyable watching of tv or simply relaxing. This is an older building (which is common for B&B) but not well maintained. Adding a sparkly chandelier to an unkempt room does not make it high end. Amenities were lacking and those that were provided were store brand or generics. No coffee maker or refrigerator in the room, no access to drinking water other than the bathroom sink. Breakfast was hot & fresh but nothing special and again not of the quality I anticipate (non dairy individual creamer like you would get at a fast food restaurant). Three stars only because David was such a kind host. This place definitely has potential but needs some serious upgrades to meet the expectations of a higher end B&B. For the area, condition of the room and lack of amenities, combined with the price ($200+ per night) I would not recommend and would not stay here again.

Absolutely delightful, charming, friendly, romantic and professional establishment. The owner (David) went above and beyond. My husband, parents and I had a wonderful New Year!! Thank you!! Highly recommend!!
