Stans Restaurant....where to start. In old town Mt. Pleasant sits this quaint little restaurant situated in a tenement next to the Broadway theatre and near the end of Broadway St. My wife and I walked into Stan's, and it was like we were transported into a Norman Rockwell scene. The people and staff were very friendly, and we were seated right away to my amazement. I ordered egg breakfast and my wife the biscuits and gravy. Both dishes looked wonderful and tasted even better. The home cooking slogan on the wall is true to its calling, It's excellent food. The home-made bread is some of the best I've ever had anywhere in the country hands down, excluding my mothers of course ☺️. I wanted to buy some loaves but they didn't have enough available. I wish this place wasn't 3 hours from me as we would frequent Stan's daily. Kudos to the owners for having the vision to create such a wonderful staple for the community. ????

This was the first time eating here. Both my wife and I enjoyed the food and service. We try to support our locally owned businesses to make sure they can stay in business and help our community by hiring local people which all helps keep our local fund in our community. They are scoring this low review because of how they handle a $3.25 question about one our meals. I ordered a framers omelette with hashbrowns. Just above the omelette category the menu states add $1 for hashbrowns. I enjoyed the omelette had a small plate of hashbrowns but when the bill came there was a $4.25 charge. Since our waitress had already left, we asked another waitress. What is this charge for? She went and asked and said that was for a side order of hashbrowns for $4.25. We said it states $1 dollar for hashbrowns with all omelettes. She said the farmers omelette has hashbrowns in it. I explained that omelette was delicious, but I didn’t see one hash brown piece in it. She went to the kitchen and asked then the manager came out. We were told hashbrowns were in the omelette, but they only put a small sliver of hashbrowns in the farmers omelette and that thethat the charge of $4.25 was for a side order of hashbrowns. I explained there were no hashbrowns in the omelette and that their menu states $1 dollar for hashbrowns for all omelettes. The manager said that isn’t the case and asked if I ate the hashbrowns. I said, of course I did. She said well you owe $4.25. I was not trying to get something for nothing and was more them willing to pay the $1 for the small plate of hash browns, but she was not having it. So even though the food, coffee, and the wait staff was great I gave only a $1 tip for what I was willing to pay for and this restaurant will never have opportunity to earn our endorsement or business again. The business manager chose $3.25 over having a satisfied customer and having our business again.

My opinion. Don’t go here. We came to drop our child off at CMU. Came here for lunch. My daughter has dietary restrictions so she had to bring in her own food. The manager/owner came up to my daughter and RUDELY told her she couldn’t eat her food. My daughter left crying, and ate her lunch on a bench outside. After the rest of my family ate and paid, I asked to speak to the manager privately. I told her that I apologized for bringing in food, but my daughter had certain dietary issues that she couldn’t control. I told her next time she should be more considerate of people. She asked me to take it outside and her waitress pushed me out of the door. I WILL NEVER go here again.

The food was ok, nothing special I’d say or at least when I went in, if you can don’t sit by the door, the booth is either broken or all of them could be like that, the person behind me in the next booth anytime they moved it would push me, also ppl waiting by the door to be seated would lean up against the other booth pushing my wife every time, to the point anytime someone came close I’d have to ask them not to lean on the booth. Been trying out all the local places but this one isn’t on the come back list

Stan’s is one of our favorite restaurants for lunch. Their burgers are amazing! The service is always very good, also. I did take a star off for the carpeting bc it isn’t very appealing. I usually get the club with big slices of turkey and thick cut bacon. You won’t be disappointed!
Ordering takeout was quick and easy. The food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant.
