The Buckhorn Resort, located on Hovey Lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, offers a great view whether you visit in winter or summer. Known for its extensive menu, the restaurant provides various fish options depending on the time of year, as well as burgers, sandwiches, broasted chicken, pizza, and more. The Perch and Bluegill are popular fish choices, always fresh and perfectly cooked. The Perch Sandwich, in particular, features fried Perch on a homestyle roll with lettuce and tartar sauce, receiving high praise for its delicious taste. A local recommendation mentioned the liver and onions meal as the most fantastic ever, served with accommodating service despite the waitress not being a fan of liver. Visitors often find that you can never go wrong with the Buckhorn, whether they are out for trail riding, snowmobiling, staying at the motels, or camping nearby. The friendly service, great food, cool lake views, and tasty old fashions make it an ideal stop. While drinks can be pricey, the beer selection is impressive, and the cozy atmosphere has maintained its charm over the years. The restaurant’s policies on checks may vary, as some groups have experienced issues with separate checks for larger parties. Overall, the Buckhorn Resort remains a popular destination for those seeking good food, pleasant company, and a great view.
