Absolutely superb experience at The Fish Basket food truck last Friday! I’d heard he could make gluten free fish and chips, and Sam confirmed it. All of it is gluten free, and he checked that his coleslaw and tartar sauce was dairy free as well, for me. We got a half pound to split between the two of us, and it was a 10/10! We learned of the Fish Basket online when we were traveling and staying overnight in Munising. Found Sam Corp and his food truck. Ordered trout and white fish baskets. They were excellent!! The fish were both cooked to perfection as were the fries. The coleslaw was also excellent! We visited with Sam while he cooked. Very interesting man and very friendly. My mom.and I visited The Fish Basket last week , it was delicious ! Hot, tasty, plentiful, I highly recommend stopping if you are in the area! The owner was friendly as well, enjoyed eating there and will again when in Munising!

The Fish Basket is a family-run fish shack offering fresh, made-to-order fish. The fried Whitefish is a highlight, with great fries and a gluten-free breading. The service is warm and cheerful, but note it's cash only. The restaurant has a local charm, and the owner, Sam, takes pride in his products, ensuring a delicious meal every time. The Fish Basket is now a mobile kitchen, parked outside the Midway General Store, a 15-minute drive from the old location. They offer 1/2 pound portions of fried white fish and homemade fries, enough for two. All of the fried fish is gluten-free, and Sam is accommodating to gluten allergies. The whitefish is expertly prepared, straight from Lake Superior, piping hot, salt & pepper to perfection, and fried right in front. There is indoor and outdoor seating near the General Store.
