Today I had lunch at the Courses restaurant which is a training restaurant at the Muskegon downtown Baker College culinary school. Lunch was wonderful. I ordered the falafel sandwich. This was quite possibly the very best falafel sandwich I've ever had. Everything was perfectly fresh; including the pickled onion. I am going to return next week again for lunch. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. The prices are more than reasonable.
This is a cooking school and boy do they know how to cook. Good luck finding them open, and Lord help you if you insist on sensible service, but the food is great and they will eventually get you things like: a refresh on your ice tea or catsup for your fries. Their focus is on the oh so tasty food so forgive them if they need a reminder on the other details.
I've been to Courses several times now, and each time it has been consistently excellent! The restaurant is a part of the Culinary Institute of Michigan and is actually run by students. Students are the hostesses, bartenders, servers, and chefs (of course with supervision.) The restaurant is open at various times during the year, so it is important to check online for dates they are open. Courses is open for lunch and dinner times. The drinks are delicious.
