Went there last night for my birthday. Everything was perfect, from the spicy margarita to the Milanes Chicken Florio to the dark chocolate pie. Our server, Melissa, was attentive and very pleasant. The reason I only rated it a 4 for atmosphere is they have a paper table covering instead of a tablecloth. That detracted from the overall special dinner atmosphere, in my opinion. Everything else was perfect.

Love the food here. But the last two times I have been here the service was a bit lacking. Came here with my mom about 2 weeks ago, and we had a server who was short with us and honestly slightly rude when we wanted to order dessert, to the point where we decided to cancel dessert. (Our bill was over 150$, and we always tip well, usually 30-50%) (We of course tipped 20%, because it still was a good food experience) Now I completely understand if a server is having an off night, the food was still amazing as always. But what is causing me to write this review is tonight I ordered two turkey clubs and two desserts for 54$. They told me it would be 15 minutes max. Perfect! I drove over and got there at the 15 minute mark. I waited 45 additional minutes... For two sandwiches with chips and two dessert pie slices. I wouldn't have been annoyed if they told me hey it's going to be another 30-40 minutes. But no one talked to me. Servers and two managers avoided me. A customer who was at a table was also looking for their server and asked if I worked there because they also had been waiting on their server to come back. I understand under staffing. I do. But the least I would expect is communication just saying hey it'll be additional time. I walked out annoyed. And honestly kinda annoyed I wasn't offered a free dessert or sandwich... It's not expected but it would have cheered me up a little after a long day teaching. I know how great this place can be. I just hope their serving staff can communicate more and be upfront with their wait times. This place hasn't lost my business completely, their food is too good for that. But I will most likely avoid eating here on weekdays when I know their staff is not great. Also I spent most of the time standing because there's really no place to sit while waiting for your pick up order... Update: Just had dinner and one of my sandwiches was missing cheese and tomatoes. Still tasted good. But upsetting.

The one consistent dish I've always enjoyed is the Florio Chicken Milanese. Unfortunately, each time I try a new dish I'm always left a bit disappointed. Tonight I tried the special which was a steak medallion and morele risotto with green beans and unfortunately I spent most of my dinner chewing overcooked steak. The pepper sauce I liked, but the risotto was overcooked and slimey. No one likes an overcooked steak and slimey risotto. The bread pudding for desert was fantastic as always. Also stop charging for bread rolls.
Just fantastic! I had the steak frites medium rare and it was perfect. Fries were some of the best I've had. I'm definitely trying to get back there.

Hearthstone Bistro catered our wedding in October 2025. When I say the food was amazing I mean the food was amazing! And most importantly to me, they handle multiple allergy with ease (tree nuts, gluten, and onion). We had a buffet setup, but those with gluten and onion where given separate plates. This is so amazing to me! I have had my tree nut allergy since I was a kid and have never felt so secure that I would not have a reaction. If you are still looking for a caterer I would strongly encourage you to reach out to them. My Husband and I had a great experience from start to finish. From the tasting to the day off. The staff was amazing, the communication throughout the whole process was phenomenal (shout out to Erin for that), and a shout out to Kim who was the manager on site the day of our wedding. She was the sweetest and rolled with our timeline that ended up going faster than we expected. I would absolutely recommend for catering. For how they handle that the in restaurants experience has to be phenomenal too.

Hearthstone Bistro was the caterer for our wedding at The Lake House Venue in Ludington, MI. The food and service was absolutely incredible and we cannot thank them enough for making our day special. The overwhelming amount of comments about how the food was some of the best they ever have had at a wedding was awesome! I would highly recommended using Hearthstone for your catering needs. Erin was also amazing to work with and made everything so easy for us!
