Great place to stop for a drink on the way to the Muskegon state park. Good food and atmosphere outdoor seating and many vegetarian options. House made for most things. Highly recommended. They will treat you like a neighbor.
The food is usually very good the last two times we were there the service was terrible. We got Waters refilled one time and some people never got drinks. the second time we were there an hour and a half and saw our waitress once was very disappointed in the service. There was six of us and we brought friends with us and ended up asking another waitress to help us because we never saw ours. they weren't impressed. The atmosphere is very noisy you couldn't even talk...
We love Bear Lake Tavern, specifically, their yellow belly perch, their blackened grouper, which taste just like it does in Florida and the wedge salad, which are some of our favorites. Don’t think you’ll be disappointed here we go there often and find it always a great experience.
