Food was terrible chips were stale. Service was lousy and if you don't pay attention you'll double tip because they automatically put gratuity on your bill. DON'T DO IT!

The lady that took my order, did not make me feel welcome in the restaurant. I was very uncomfortable. She acted like she was having a bad day. I wanted to place a take out order. I ask about two items on the menu. Me and my wife was on vacation in new buffalo for our Anniversary, first time in this restaurant. The dinner that I ordered was nothing like the description on the menu. It was dry, not seasoned, tastes like canned food. My enchilada was dry, beans dry, and the rice was dry, the chicken in the corn tortillas was also just plain dry meat.

First time we stopped... should have stopped a lot sooner...this place was fabulous. Fajitas were delicious. Service and atmosphere was amazing. Ask for Zach....great server and fun to chat with. See you again real soon.

Wet burritos and pitchers of beer! What's not to like? My family has converged on El Rancho Grande for weekend lunches several times over the years. (Once, a few years ago, our El Rancho Grande server referred to the burrito grande as the burrito grand without the "e," so my family refers to El Rancho Grande and El Rancho Grand, by the way. We think we're hilarious.) We really like this Tex Mex restaurant's food though service has been iffy at times. This past weekend, my family met at El Rancho Grand (Note the intentional misspelling due to the story above!) on Sunday for lunch. We had some of the best service that we've ever had at our favorite New Buffalo wet burrito spot. Our server was attentive, thoughtful, nice, and personable. He also had a great sense of humor. We also really enjoyed our chips and salsa, our wet burritos, and our pitcher of Dos Equis Amber. We were too full to order fried ice cream, but we did think about it. We've had El Rancho Grand's (The spelling joke never gets old.) fried ice cream in the past, and it's great. Thus, it was tough to pass up! If the service were always as good as it was yesterday, I would add another star to my review. El Rancho Grand (Again, this misspelling is intentional.) is a great little spot with a lot of potential. Just a little bit of a step up on service would really make this place a New Buffalo gem.

I was really surprised to see the bad reviews here. We came here at about 3:40pm and the staff was really nice, they welcomed us in the door, and our waitress was very sweet and while she was a little older she was quick on her feet. Our food came out fast and honestly it was the best Mexican food that I've had in a while. Really cool/authentic atmosphere. My boyfriend and I loved it. The enchilada and fish tacos are the bomb!
Very disappointed. There was no frozen margaritas because the machine wasn't functioning, no limes available, they ran out of chips and salsa, my entree did not have all of the ingredients advertised in the menu and when I pointed this out to the waiter he said I another customer had just said the same thing and that it was very bland...same as mine. Our friends ordered corn tortilla shells and got a different kind, the checks at the end were messed up. The serve time was very extended and our waiter said that he wouldn't recommend that we get a second round of drinks because the wait time was too long, so we didn't get them.

Terrible service. Waited forever for a table and never got a waiter. Waiter was kind enough to discover we weren't served and picked up our table. He recommended not ordering from the bar because we'd never receive our drink. Nice guy, felt bad for him because he was obviously overworked.
