We love Hummingbird. The drinks are always amazing and I will come again and again if for nothing else to have a Negroni. Up to now we've never been underwhelmed with the food, but I wouldn't recommend the skirt steak - it was fairly plain and lacking in flavor. Any of the other entrees have always been great.
We visited for the first time and discovered after waiting for food for over an hour that the kitchen was short-staffed. However, that was not shared when we arrived. From a customer service perspective, we would have had a choice to stay and wait or go someplace else. The cocktails were really good, the staff was nice enough, apologetic, and the food was good but maybe not good enough to have us return. With this kind of wait, another good customer service option is to comp dessert...
We chose this restaurant because they take reservations and we didn't want to wait for a table. It wasn't very busy. We sat outside on a nice summer evening. The food was okay and the service was good but we will not likely go back.
