My travels have brought me to the small town of New Era a couple weeks ago. It was the only place in town. When looking online at the menu, it looked short, but I was hungry so I gave it a try. They specialized in grilled cheese and tomato soup. Why not? It was a rainy day.This place did NOT disappoint. They brought me this huge stuffed grilled cheese sandwich with piles and piles of ham on it. It had cream cheese on it, which was questionable, but was surprisingly delicious! At $14 for a grilled ham and cheese and tomato soup, simply the best I've ever heard..and that's comparing against a grilled cheese served in Switzerland that was claimed as being a world renowned grilled cheese and one of the best in the world. This place beat them out, hands down.While I most likely won't be back to this little town, I will miss this gem in the middle of the Mid-northern Michigan wilderness. Stop and try it. It may be a couple miles off the highway, but it WILL be worth it!

We weren't aware we showed up on Trivia Night but it was super fun to watch. We had amazing food and the service was top notch. Will definitely return!
Soup and sandwich???.... not even folks, !!!!must stop in.!!! First time for us!!!! We are going back, food, service, atmosphere.... these guy's got all you are looking for,. over and beyond what you would think when you read soup and sandwich... we could eat dinner and have great service every night they are open. 5 star all the way... great job The Artisan, end of new faces here.!!!!! Loved it!!!!!

Our family happened upon this restaurant through a Google search of nearby ones that were open. This place was amazing. The food was great. Angel was a wonderful server and very attentive. He even made us their pineapple water that they made there. Very flavorful. There were five in our group, and we all agreed that we would come again. We didn't know it was triva night. We didn't join but made our guesses and enjoyed ourselves. The restroom was very nice and clean. Great decor.
Really great experience here tonight. David, our bartender, was attentive and friendly. The food menu has a lot of different options. David said that they post daily specials to their Facebook page. 10 beers on rotation. Bathroom was clean (really cool sink!). Pac-Man machine for the kids. Comfortable atmosphere. Fair food and drink prices. Loved that its family owned. I'll be back! - Lenny

New Era NEEDS a place like this!!!!! Great drink selection (alcohol and otherwise), amazing food menu, and really nice staff. We popped in for a beer and had the pleasure of meeting David (his mom owns the place). Such a great guy! Learned a little about his family's story, some Mexican/Irish history, and enjoyed a cold beer. If you're nearby, SUPPORT THIS PLACE! Bring a few quarters for the Pac-Man machine too. 10/10 - great people, great food, great drinks, relaxed quaint small town vibe. Follow them on Facebook to keep up-to-date on the food specials!

Went for lunch today. Lived near New Era for over a year, and finally made it in. Food is fresh and a good tap list and other bevs. Veggie wrap was huge and delish. Will definitely be back soon. Thx!Vegetarian options: Plenty of options for veg
I honestly cannot say enough great things about this eatery! This restaurant not only gives you a fun loving atmosphere for you and your family to eat, it also is complimented by the amazing food it produces!!! If you have not tried their Baja tacos on Tuesdays You Have Not LIVED. They have more beers on tap and wines to drink then I can keep track of...honest, kind, inviting owners and staff. Amazing authentic food! what more can you ask for!
Should’ve come here sooner!!! Food was amazing, as was the service. Buffalo chicken wrap was delicious, we will be back for sure!!!
