I was hoping for a good experience here because everyone in town recommends it and it's usually busy. But sadly my doughnut ( to go with the apple cider I'd brought from home) was dry and stale. Definitely not fresh l y baked. Maybe I was there on an off day but makes me reluctant to try again. Sorry Barb's but you lost my business.

Best cinnamon twists, cherry turnovers and old fashion donuts. Temporary closed until October 19th as Linda, the manager, was recently married and is away a few weeks. Congratulations Linda, we're missing your tasty breakfast treats during peak colors 2023. Your gain our loss but looking forward to future peak color seasons family gatherings and grandchildren enjoying Barb's Bakery breakfast treats

An institution in Northport for years! Excellent baked goods. Newest owners are upholding the tradition. Cinnamon rolls (take out warmed) plus Moomer's Vanilla ice cream a staple for dessert!

Best Bakery anywhere period. Cinnamon twists are amazing. I never have had better baked goods anywhere.

After a night on an air mattress, this made for a great morning. Huge cinnamon roll and a great cup of coffee! You will want to stop here!

Loved this cute family-owned bakery! It was our family's first time to Northport and the bakery came highly recommended. Walking in felt like a beautiful taste of history as the bakery has a cute old fashioned charm to it. Cinnamon rolls are one of my favorite desserts and I absolutely fell in love with how Barb's Bakery makes them. So much so, that I convinced my husband to go back two days in a row so I could bring some back for our neighbors back home. The cinnamon rolls were surprisingly affordable too given how large they are (in fact, they probably could charge more than they do!) Other favorites of ours included the cinnamon twists and the pretzel twist pastry (not sure of the technical name, but it was oh so good!) There was a steady stream of folks who seem to be both locals and tourists. We will definitely be back again.

Best donuts. A classic Northport staple. If I could eat barbs every day I would. Even with new management they have kept their classic charm

This place came very recommended by our last B&B - “donuts so big they are called Truck tires”. Not very big and not particularly unique, but my reference point is the northeast where bakeries are different (better IMO). We tried the choc cherry old fashioned, Boston crème, and cinn twist. Edible but not what I go to bakeries for. Essentially grocery store grade up in the NE

I was told this bakery has been in business for over a hundred years after having there pretzel glazed donuts I see why. I love Krispy cream but these donuts blew them out of the water. The size is crazy and melt in your mouth freshness stand alone. Never been to North Port Michigan but it’s on my radar for future visits a real diamond in the rough..

Cinnamon twists were good, hours can be very sporadic after Labor Day.

Buyer beware. Cookies LOOKED great in the showcase, nearly broke a tooth when I took a bite. These had to have been at least a week old. Could use them as paper weights. Won't be back

I want to give this place raves because for years they've had amazing donuts and other pastries. However this year I sensed they were selling day old cinnamon twists (not nearly as fresh as the used to be). Also when you pay with a credit card, they blatantly ask if you want to leave a tip? Seriously??? A tip for putting a donut in a bag? This place came under new ownership within the past year or two and it's showing. I hope they correct their ways and they return to being the great bakery it used to be. PS. Coffee has always been watered down and lousy, so "just say no."

Delicious quality bake goods. It is wonderful to taste and I can tell they use quality products to make their bake goods and that is a rarity.
