My husband and I were warmly welcomed by Brandon, the owner of Yard and Lake, who introduced us to the chef and went over the menu selections. Both were super friendly!! They had a special Valentines menu along with the regular menu. I selected the shrimp and risotto from the special menu and my husband chose the pizza from the regular menu. We also ordered the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. WOW is all I can say.. The food was outstanding!!! Everything was hot, and presented beautifully. They came around several times to be sure we were satisfied and to see if we needed anything. This place is worth a drive from Traverse! You won’t be disappointed or leave hungry. The Negronis…yum!!! We will be back for sure! Maybe tomorrow!! Thank you Yard and Lake for a wonderful culinary experience.

Great local place. A quick walk from the Northport Inn. Stayed late while we finished our drinks. Very affordable. Dart boad. Quiet relaxed vibes, fireplace, bar or dining area. This is the new spot.

We are new to Northport and love supporting our local community. We had the opportunity to visit this restaurant and meet the new owners! They are so nice, not to mention the food was FANTASTIC . I had the crammed chicken ….. Delicious! My husband had the corn chowder and lettuce wraps ….sooo good. The warm focaccia bread with marinara. The finale and my ALL TIME FAVORITE THING WAS THE FRESH BAKED COOKIES….. OMG IM STILL DREAMING IF THEM ! DO YOUSELF A FAVOR …. Do not miss this place ! CHEERS !

This place was so great! We were there for dinner in the winter and it was an amazing experience. The food was awesome, the bartender and chef were both friendly and accomodating, and the vibe of the place was perfect! We enjoyed chatting with others at the bar and had excellent food and cocktails. New gem! I’m a local, and this is without a doubt the best food in Leelanau County. Hands down. I went with a big group and we ordered nearly the entire menu, and every single dish was outstanding — not one miss. The eggplant and pork were incredible, easily one the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. I also appreciated that the menu isn’t overly large and feels very well thought out, with a great range that includes both elevated dishes and a solid, well-executed burger. Thoughtful, creative, and flawlessly executed — this place is something really special.

Stumbled upon this gem while celebrating our 30th Anniversary in Grand Traverse Bay Area! Brandon was a great host, loving the local wine & cider…taco truck served a fabulous carne asada! Our puppy was served his own bowl of ice water. Highly recommend Yard & Lake!

My wife and I were driving by and spontaneously stopped in based on street appeal. We were delighted beyond expectations. What a beautiful, relaxing and quiet place to enjoy food and a beverage. Plenty of outdoor seating in various settings. We highly recommend it and next time we are nearby will definitely make it a destination.

Love this little spot. It’s got a great atmosphere and the owner is so nice! Only issue we had was with the prices for the taco truck. We spent $40 on what we thought was going to be dinner, but had to go get more food from the market after because the value for what you get is not there. The tacos were good, but teeny tiny & not well filled. Will not be going back to the taco truck.
