Incredible food. I miss getting their lunch specials.
Curry rice was fantastic.
I can't recommend this place enough.
In this day and age they don't have any online platforms to order from. Just good old phone in an order.
They are that good.

Sushi is my favorite food. And Ajishin is my favorite sushi.
I ordered two sushi combos at 6:20pm, they said I could pick it up at 7:45. After 40m, they called back to me, they said I had to chang order because Yellow tails was gone....
Curious!! When I ordered them, they checked everything - ingredients & time. But it was charged. They don't care about this situation. Are you ok if it happens to you?

Post COVID Update:
Ajishin still has awesome food, their prices are still great, but they have moved to a takeout only model.
Original review:
Ajishin is a small udon and sushi shop on the end of a rather unassuming strip mall. If you look closely, however, you will quickly see there is almost always a nice sized crowd of Japanese people hanging around.
That's not by accident. It is the noodle shop for authentic Japanese food, run by authentic Japanese people, with a real authentic Japanese menu. They have an English menu, but flip it over, and order from the Japanese side. You won't be disappointed.
It is about $6 for a bowl, and it will fill you up, and then some.
There is almost always a wait for a table, but the food is so good, it is worth it.

I used to come here in 2010s. Today I came back here with my son to show my regular sushi place. Ajishin still offers top notch udons and sushi at cheap prices. I felt that Udon was a bit saltier than before. It's unfortunate that we were not able to eat inside any more but worthy of 30 minutes drive from Ann Arbor.

Best authentic Japanese food ever in Michigan 👍
Amazing takeout spot! After making a strong comeback from COVID, this place is better than ever. The food travels well, and everything tastes just as fresh at home as it would in the restaurant. The nigiri is top-notch—fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The California roll is delicious, with the perfect balance of texture and taste. The udon is packed with rich flavor, and even for takeout, the noodles keep their perfect chew.
The only downside is that there’s no dine-in option, which is a bit sad because this food deserves to be enjoyed fresh in a great atmosphere. Still, the quality and service make it absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Great sushi. Very reasonably priced.
Very good value food, great for a quick lunch. I wish they reopen dine-in though. Takeout only now.

This place was one of the best in town and the food was great! Now the customer service has gone downhill, no longer open to the public for dine in, no longer consistent on which days they are open, one week they close on Monday the next it's a Tuesday they pick and choose when to answer the phone they still use the "Covid" excuse to why they are closed for dine in it's a shame bc it WAS one of the best in town

By far the best sushi spot for high quality sushi and udon. They also have baked fish that is delicious and rare to find in other sushi establishment. (Let them know whether you want udon or not with your fish).

Best udon in the midwest when you can eat it on site. Who wants soggy udon?
