When the host took our name, he mentioned that they made us a personalized Happy Birthday menu (it was the cutest) and set us up at a cute little table where we could have some privacy. The ONLY drawback was that we were sat specifically so we could have a little privacy and quiet, but then, about a half hour in, the loudest group of seniors sat at a 12 top next to us. Within the first two minutes, they had managed to spill three drinks and knock over two chairs. They also brought in their own food, which I felt was disrespectful, but the restaurant was very accommodating. The food was amazing, and the bill was much less than I expected. If you're looking for the perfect roasted duck - this is the place! I would absolutely recommend it to a friend!”

Most of all, we love all the servers here and they are all family to us. I recommend getting the Mug Club membership to support local business! “We have enjoyed Byrds Hot Chicken in Novi twice now - the first time for my son's birthday in February and today, just because! The food is consistent, hearty and delicious. I especially love the crunchy coating on the chicken. Yum! Although the menu is very simple, it works like a charm with several customizable options and it really seems to hit the spot. I find that the set up of this cafe-style restaurant is chic and perfect for a city like Novi. The choice of colors, textures, furniture and the overall ambiance are very tastefully coordinated. The owners, though, are really what stand out. They make an effort to provide excellent customer service, are very friendly and take time with each customer to make sure that their order is well placed and explained. I was very pleased to see that the restaurant was being well patronized when I stopped by to pick up my take out order this evening. Byrds Hot Chicken is a must try!”

“It was my first time dining at STH and it wouldn’t be the last. My crab cake appetizer was great and I had the Chuckawalla chicken without the goat cheese and it was delicious. While I was placing my order our waitress asked if I was happy with the sides it came with or if I’d like to change them. No one has ever asked that before. I had the asparagus and swapped out the mashed potatoes for the brussel sprouts. The only thing that could have been better was if the asparagus had been seasoned better. A little salt and pepper fixed that. An all around great experience.”

“I'm from the Memphis, TN and had to come up here on business. I've never been to Michigan, but from what I've been told my entire life northerners are rude. I had the pleasure of eating at the Grand Diner tonight and JOLENE was my server. I could not have ask for more friendlier waitress than her. Her personality and her ethics of work were amazing. I would definitely recommend this place and her to anybody visiting from the south. Jolene, I hope your owners read this. Thank you so much for being friendly, and the service that you provided. P.S. “It's been a little while since my last visit here and I am so happy I returned! The food was very good! I always enjoy the Nagoya ramen, deep favors with a bit of spice. It's such a pleasant experience! The Shoyu ramen doesn't miss. Again, the depth of flavor is just right along with the toppings. On this day, I wanted to check out some appetizers as well. The breast of chicken katsu was spot on! It was crispy and tender and mild. All the apps were prepared well and we enjoyed the Agedashi tofu, the potato croquette and chicken gyoza ! All were nicely done with a nice presentation. I enjoy the ordering process as it is unique. The large space allows for a lot of seating and the atmosphere is rustic and casual. No pretense, just good food!”

She was very friendly and started going over all the items they have while we were looking over the menu. We went with the bang bang shrimp appetizer and it was so good, I could have just had that and would have been happy. Anyway, me and my family got steaks, some with shrimp or lobster tail. It was all very good….when we head back to Novi we will definitely eat here again.”

At this location beware if you go on Saturday. 1 hour wait minimum. Put your name on the waiting list online beforehand. Prices were fair, steaks excellent perfectly cooked. And get the fully loaded sweet potatoe, you wont be disappointed.”

“Came here for the first time. Definitely do not miss out on the meat skewers, lamb and beef are sooooo good! Well seasoned and spicy! We also got the black garlic ramen…. So good! It’s in a good spot in my option, not overcrowded and you can actually enjoy a meal and talk to who you came in with.(we dined in but you can also get it to go) It’s across from tricho. They also play r&b and it’s so chill to eat here. Highly recommend!”

They have a Ginger salad dressing instead of the peanut and there noodles are very differnt and cooked in the back kitchen. They remind me of a chow may noodle instead of a udon.”

“Took my daughter there with pretty much the entire family for her birthday dinner it was about 25 of us and they were SUPER accommodating! It was our first time trying it we weren’t disappointed at all. We had a great time and they were so patient with us and helpful. BRANDON our server was amazing and so friendly. I loved everything about the experience. We did the Korean bbq and the hot pot combo and both were great it was a little tricky for us on the grill just because we tried to cook in our pot and on the grill and burned it lol but once we got it that was one of my favorite parts. The only thing I would say about this is that it is expensive other than that, everything else is worth the experience. “Such great food! Like really really amazing! We called for delivery and the person who answered the phone was super friendly. We ordered two pizzas, a veggie sub, wingdings, coleslaw and a salad. Everything tasted extremely fresh and delicious. The coleslaw is so amazing that I called them to let them know it was the best coleslaw I ever had. We just moved here and have tried a few recommended pizza places but this has become our number one spot. I have to say that this is some of the best pizza we have ever had!”

The beef filling was nice and hot with a decent texture. Usually, the meat is lukewarm and mushy but not on these tacos. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and the sour cream just the right amount. This Taco Bell got it right!”

If you go when they are ready to close, they will often give you baked goods that they have left at the end of the day. We were having an event at work and i asked the owner (Gus) if he cared to donate his leftovers to our company at the end of the day. He gave us a large order at 1/2 price. He also owns the 1 on Pontiac Trail in South Lyon. These are my 2 favorite locations!”

This restaurant is reminiscent to me of a '60s restaurant very clean inside and although they have trouble keeping help the service we have for our coffee is always good. In short, I was very,very impressed with the amazingly extensive menu, small, cozy, comfortable surrounding, the chef (lived 40 years in Japan) and very, very wonderful food. I've lived in SF, Chicago and DC and this restaurant equals if not exceeds the wonderful Japanese culinary experiences in these cities.”

“I highly recommend this place and it was the best Chinese I've had in years! Got a pickup order on a Saturday night. The dinner specials are affordable and are HUGE portions. We got a sweet and sour chicken special and a kung pao chicken special. Both for less than $30 total for 2 people and we could have fed another human being comfortably. Both specials come with soup and an egg roll (and you can swap the soup for another egg roll). Wonton soup was amazing. Egg rolls were some of the best I've ever had. Kung pao chicken was great. Sweet and sour chicken came with the sauce on the side so the chicken was still crispy and fresh. Again, HUGE portions for both. I finished the king pao and while I didn't regret it in the moment at all, I will regret it when I check the scale tomorrow. Inside looked nice, our pickup order was done early and it was easy as pie picking up. No long wait or anything. Only negative of the entire meal was that the sweet and sour sauce that came on the side had a very odd taste to it - almost like it was a little past due. Hopefully they get a new batch in ASAP.”

The waiter named Miguel served us and he was very rude to us, literally, he silenced my friend when she wanted to order for one of my friends. Later, when ordering takeout, he yelled at us because he had already closed the account. All of the employees were so kind and patient with all of the littles ones, including my 6 year old. All of the games were working, and prices were fair. Susan saw her struggling with her walker to get into the bathroom, while I was heading over she took over and helped her into the stall and made sure she got out. I tried to tip her afterwards and she refused, that's just good people.”

“Cool experience! They had a robot bring out the kids some ice cream. They also had origami for the kids. The cook was great. They have a Ginger salad dressing instead of the peanut and there noodles are very differnt and cooked in the back kitchen. They remind me of a chow may noodle instead of a udon.”

“Such great food! Like really really amazing! We called for delivery and the person who answered the phone was super friendly. We ordered two pizzas, a veggie sub, wingdings, coleslaw and a salad. Everything tasted extremely fresh and delicious. The coleslaw is so amazing that I called them to let them know it was the best coleslaw I ever had. “They have a bunch of games you can play, cornhole, beer pong, jenga, a punching bag machine and more. Make sure to call ahead of time to see if they are hosting a cornhole tournament, they were the night we went and the bar tenders were super busy. Overall, cool place, I'd go back.”

I got a sausage pastry, a chocolate croissant, and an earl grey scone. Everything was fresh, and well balanced. The pastry dough was very light and crispy.The real winner was the banana latte I ordered. I usually don't go for flavored drinks because they hit you with sugar/artificial taste, but the banana flavor was subtle and the sugar level was just right.Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Novi.”

“We have enjoyed Byrds Hot Chicken in Novi twice now - the first time for my son's birthday in February and today, just because! The food is consistent, hearty and delicious. I especially love the crunchy coating on the chicken. Yum! Although the menu is very simple, it works like a charm with several customizable options and it really seems to hit the spot. I find that the set up of this cafe-style restaurant is chic and perfect for a city like Novi. The choice of colors, textures, furniture and the overall ambiance are very tastefully coordinated. The owners, though, are really what stand out. They make an effort to provide excellent customer service, are very friendly and take time with each customer to make sure that their order is well placed and explained. I was very pleased to see that the restaurant was being well patronized when I stopped by to pick up my take out order this evening. Byrds Hot Chicken is a must try!”

“MY WIFE & I received a gift card for Chick-Fil-A as a CHRISTmas gift. Kinda different, but WE finally made it on March 29, 2024, after a few failed attempts. It was pretty busy, inside and out! The atmosphere was uplifting. I was Very impressed to see the manager being one of the customer service people! MY WIFE was very impressed with the food, which means WE will be planning OUR next visit A.S.A.P.! For MYSELF, I enjoy legs & thighs, which are not available. I had the pleasure of eating at the Grand Diner tonight and JOLENE was my server. I could not have ask for more friendlier waitress than her. Her personality and her ethics of work were amazing. “It was my first time dining at STH and it wouldn’t be the last. My crab cake appetizer was great and I had the Chuckawalla chicken without the goat cheese and it was delicious. While I was placing my order our waitress asked if I was happy with the sides it came with or if I’d like to change them. No one has ever asked that before. I had the asparagus and swapped out the mashed potatoes for the brussel sprouts. The only thing that could have been better was if the asparagus had been seasoned better. A little salt and pepper fixed that. An all around great experience.”
