Bar Louie - Twelve Mile Crossing

Walked in to bar Louie with my family and there was so many empty tables the guy at the door said sure just wait for the gentleman to be seated the guy with short blond hair walked in with such a mean attitude told us we have to wait 30 plus min I asked why your chairs are all empty your booth is empty he said it’s not about the seats it’s about are kitchen. He literally just wanted us to leave. Please fire ppl like that if your kitchen can’t handle ppl than do us a favor and close.this just happened now at 7 pm on this freaking day.i had two kids under the age of 5 with me and you know how cold it’s.

I want to preface this by saying we did go on a Wednesday night which might have been our mistake, maybe they’re better on the weekends. Walking into the restaurant you can tell it’s very outdated, there was visible dust and dinged up furniture everywhere. They had no paper products anywhere, no napkins, no takeout containers, no paper towels in the bathroom. The food was extremely bland, I got the shrimp and chicken pasta and the only redeeming thing about the plate was the seared shrimp, everything else was bland and unappetizing and for $23 it was quite the disappointment. All in all the people running this place need to either put in some real effort or let the restaurant die and close up shop, this middle ground purgatory they’re currently in is not good at all.

I have a split review on the Novi location, I had a open table reservation for 5:30 on a Saturday. We arrived on time and the restaurant was not busy at all. The hostess asks us if a table is fine, there was 4 of us so that is fine. She takes us to the very back and tries to sit us at a table with only 3 chairs and says she can just bring another chair over. I asked her, where are you going to put another chair as there is only room for 3 and we have 4. She was going to try to put 2 people on the same side of the table when there was not enough room, my husband told her absolutely not as most of the restaurant was open and to find another place for us. She stomps away without saying anything so we assume we should follow her. She proceeds to complete other side of the restaurant and literally pitches the menus on a table as she walks away without saying a word. Again, we assumed we were sitting there. This is the hostess, rudest person ever. We almost left right there but it was a family dinner for 2 birthdays so we stayed. Now, here is my split review, our server, a young lady whom I did not get her name which is unfortunate as she was amazing. A couple of things we wanted to order we could not because of an issue with a lower oven, but she was polite and efficient. She even gave us a discount when it took forever to get our food, we did not even ask her about it or say anything about the delays. She told us there is now way it should be taking this long and we appreciated her and her service. That hostess needs a new job because she was horribly rude. I wish I would have gotten her name too but I was trying to enjoy our family gathering and did not want to make a big deal out of it but she was something else. If you read this see who was seating guests at 5:15 on Saturday De 28th, she was prob in her 40's, very thin woman, she was by far the ruddest person I have ever dealt with at a restaurant.

The food here is Amazing and this is the second time I’m here but the service wasn’t great like the first time and no one check on us and our server was literally on his phone for 10 minutes maybe more which I don’t mind at all just do that when the customer is not looking at you.

Took the family to Bar Loui because Ford’s Garage next door had an hour wait. Bar Loui was completely dead. The food and drinks were terrible. The first two items we ordered (fish and chips, cheese steak dip) they said they were out of, so we ordered sliders and a medium-rare steak. For drinks we ordered their Smores Martini.

S’mores Martini- tasted fine, but the martini glass was dirty and had a musty smell, the smell when you leave dirty dishes in the dishwasher for two days. So the smell ruined the drinks.

Sliders- came as completely burnt/charred hockey pucks (see pics). Horrible! I would feel bad giving this to a dog.

Steak- ordered medium-rare, came extra well done and dry as leather. Undoubtedly the worst steak I’ve ever received from a restaurant.

We would not recommend this place, it’s now clear why this restaurant had no patrons when all the surrounding restaurants had an hour wait.

Came for happy hour, my 2 drinks should have been $14 as they were $7 each on happy hour. But because I got it on ice it doesn't count for happy hour somehow. So I paid an extra $9 because I wanted ice.... be careful of bait and switch with any "deals" here

This place has very poor service. The waiter was very rude. It was like he had a hearing problem. Had to get to get my own silverware. It took a long time for everything to come out. The place WAS NOT crowded. Maybe me and one other couple. The time was 1pm. I would hate to see them on a crowded day. I don't recommend. I Only stopped in because of the hype. Will not be back. .....

We normally go to Fords Garage. However tonight they were booked so we came to Bar Louie. 3 of us sat at the bar. Our initial bartender was horrific. We received our appetizers an hour and 15 minutes after we ordered. Then we received our food an hour after that and it was not good. Very dry and very over cooked (steak, chicken, and salmon) The only saving grace was Jenna, who took over as our bartender/waitress.
The only reason I am giving this place a 2 star review is because of Jenna and Steve. They were absolutely AMAZING!

Always an easy late stop for an end cap or a quick beer, plenty of bar space and area to sit with someone or a small party. I would call ahead incase for large parties but I am sure they can accommodate generally. Cute staff but make sure to grab someone while you have their attention. They can get busy at times but good service.

Good food, great service. Their All Nighter burger and Truffle fries hit the spot. The music seemed a bit loud for a slow night, but I super appreciated folks going out of their way to seat me by a booth where it was a bit quieter. Overall, I would recommend!

Super disappointed. On our way back from Detroit on Thanksgiving day Lions game. Called two hours in advance to verify they were open. Asked if we needed to make a reservation or call ahead and was told nope they’re not busy at all. Got there and was told a 30 minute wait. One hour later we left without being seated.
