Nice, busy, and exciting

Amazing tender meat and fantastic service. French onion soup was delicious. Filet mignon was melt-in-your-mouth but sirloin was great too. However, too much damn smoke in the whole place my glasses keep fogging up, they will benefit from a real strong exhaust above each table.

The evening of February 25, 2025 I attended my sister's birthday dinner at this location. I had never been prior. It was a less than poor experience; one that resulted in my being completely vexed by the end of the dinner. Initially, the waiter was nice, but unorganized. He was unequipped to wait on large parties. I, along with the rest of the party, opted to have our proteins prepared by the cook. Their was 1 person who requested to cook their own protein. The food arrived and was completely unsatisfactory. Everyone's protein was extremely overcooked to the point of it being unappetizing. Additionally, the sides were cold. Half of the table sent their plates back, myself included. The manager (Sarah Hill) came to our table to offer an apology wrapped in excuses. They eventually returned each plate one by one. I patiently waited for the return of my food however, my plate never made it back to me. The evening came to a close, and the next thing I knew, I was being presented with a very large bill along with my to go boxes of cheesecake. I ordered 2 drinks that I indeed consumed and 2 slices of cheesecake to go (untouched), plus my dinner that I literally had 1 bite of before sending it back. When I told the manager that I never got my food back, she looked totally frazzled. Therefore, I told her not to worry about it, just kindly remove it from my bill. She did, yet failed to extend a level of service recovery; thereby also removing the charges for the cheesecake. Seeing as how it was 11:30 pm and I was going to have to leave their restaurant in search of dinner that I should have already had. I had just spent the past few hours grinning/baring their poor service and bad food gracefully. I wasn't rude and I didn't get angry until the manager refused to remove the cheesecake charges from the bill though, I told her that I no longer even wanted them. At that point, I was over the entire experience. Things escalated because it became clear to me at that point that the manager was ego driven to give me a hard time. I mean, why not remove the charge for the cheesecake that I didn't eat along with the food that I was unable to eat??? Anyway, my sister was also over it and decided to pay the bill, which included cheesecake that I did not eat. Before we left, the manager called the police on us, though the bill was already paid. The very next day I called the corporate office and left 2 voice-mail messages, my messages have gone unanswered. I called the Novi restaurant and spoke with Tori (aka TK) on 02/26/2025. He told me he'd speak with corporate to come up with a resolution. I told him that I didn't want a giftcard, as I do not wish to dine with them again. I haven't heard back from TK, so here we are. My advise, just go elsewhere.

Seriously underwhelming for the $. Calling 20 ct shrimp jumbo is downright shady. Taking my order and coming back after my soup to tell me that they were out of 8oz tenderloins is also a bit of a bait and switch. Clam chowder and fries were nearly inedible as well. Sad because the place could surely be unique and fun and being the customer does all the cooking shouldn't be hard to execute on.

Great food & staff but they have a serious fly/bee problem. Never have that issue at any other restaurant oddly enough (even the other restaurants in the fountain walk don’t have this issue as badly as them)

Good place and especially the steaks. When I'm in Detroit I used to meet friends there and have good steak with shrimps.

Food was excellent, the kids really enjoyed it. My problem was with the service. Our waitress was slow, we had a large party. The sat 4 people from our part on the other side of the restaurant and refused to let them move. Not the greatest

So yeah I'm going to say that this place and the concept is lacking. I'm not sure what it's lacking exactly but here is what I do know. You pay almost $30 for a sirloin. I chose the largest one. And it came out like the gelatinous wad. Zero season and I had to cook it. Which I know that's the concept. But there's no seasoning on it and there is only salt and pepper at the table. We all know that steak especially sirloin needs ALOT more than that. That's like the McDonald's of steak tho. And I paid $30 for that and the salad which comes with barely any dressing. And 5 asparagus. Which I paid extra for the salad because I wanted the blue cheese wedge salad. But the asparagus came with. Which explains ALOT right there. But let's talk about our waitress. Now I get it that people have bad days and she must have been. But she should not have taken our party. She botches it up so badly. She took forever to give us our dressing after we got our salads. I mean 15 min passed and we finally said something and she gave us an attitude for asking and we wanted to know if the dressing was on there already she took so long. She was nowhere to be found for refills ever. And we went awhile with nothing in our cups several times. It all started with her asking us for our orders and my 7 year old still hasn't gotten his child menu I'm like can we get one and attitude give me a second and an eye roll. For the price the amount of food considering you cook it yourself is ridiculous. And proves that rich people need things to throw their money at. But the worst part is let's talk about the needing to pay. My check was $53 my aunt's was $77 and even tho she took out cards at different times she still over charged my card. Under charged my aunt's and realized it after she charged my aunt's card. And then because she messed up she told me Aunt to forget her tip. I was like ummmmm you over charged me where is takingybtip because the whole thing was really her fault. Nope she took her tip from me. Despite the fact her service was.sub par and the food was not worth the amount. I will say don't worry about going to Black Rock you get better food at Texas Roadhouse and they treat you better and the service rocks. And the dueling pretzels was good but they do not give you enough pretzels.
